Bio Photo UPDATE: We have recently been given maintenance rights to the memorials listed in the 03. Maple Grove - Transfers virtual cemetery by a member who no longer wished to maintain them. Will transfer any of these to anyone who expresses an interest. Thanks!

We have been researching our family for about 30 years and have traveled to several states for genealogy. Many of our memorials are for "extended" family members, but others are not. We hope someone finds the information we post helpful in their own research.

Except for those photos listed within our *Posted with Permission* virtual cem, every tombstone or cemetery photo we post was taken by us on the date indicated in the photo caption.

-- All contributor-posted photographs are intended for PERSONAL USE, unless stated otherwise. To comply with current Copyright Law, you SHOULD NOT post (and/or republish) any contributor's cemetery or tombstone photos elsewhere without permission.

-- As contributors retain the copyright on ALL photos that they have taken and posted, it is actually NOT acceptable to just indicate you took the photo from Find A Grave (since this site does not own the copyright to any of the contributor-posted photographs).

Regarding our cemetery and tombstone photographs, specifically...

-- We will allow most instances of unaltered OTHER USE, but with the added stipulation that you MUST provide a photo source citation (by referencing both "Find A Grave" [or] AND our profile name AND # in the Description) for any of our photographs taken from this website; for example, "Photo courtesy of Find A Grave Contributor: Law-Miller Roots (#47103448)".

-- Note that you can provide a link back to the Find A Grave memorial, instead of copying (i.e. Ancestry's built-in "weblinks" function can be used for this exact purpose). This option works quite well.

-- Please do not download and then republish any family portraits we post, as these come from private family collections. Some of these photos still enjoy copyright protection and are NOT in the public domain.

NOTE: If we've submitted a memorial that you want to make corrections to, or if you would like a memorial transferred (and we're not also related in some way) let us know via the Edit Tab and we'll take care of it asap.

RE: Robert W. Hayes
Would be interested to hear what you find out about the burial date/memorial date. Btw, I noticed in the information that I sent you I must have written March 4, 1973. Obviously it was the March 24th that you put up. Typo on my end. It was in the March 29th paper (a Thursday, and they drowned the previous Saturday).

thanks for getting back to me. Sad story, apparently they hadn't been married very long.

Robert W. Hayes
I believe the information on this memorial is incorrect. Mr. Hayes died March 4, 1973, in Mendocino CA. He and his wife, Sharon, were drowned off the coast in a "sleeper" wave, and from what I understand, their bodies were not recovered. The only thing I can think of is that there may be a memorial at Maple Grove since it appears this is the county he was from and it wasn't put up until May of 1973, the date you have. There is another memorial that was done for him (I will contact the other volunteer as well) that has the date of March 1973. Neither memorial has his birth date or bio information. I would be happy to send that information to you if you'd like to put it up.

Rick Bushong
Pandora Cemetery
Hi Marilyn,

You've been so knowledgeable and helpful with so many Bushong relative's tombstone photos, in the past. I wonder do you know, if there is any Sexton at all for the Pandora Cemetery?

Possibly you'll remember the missing stone for my gg-great grandmother, Lydia Bushong, and that we had photos of it from 1970?

Well, it turns out, it was broken by vandals and later carried off, to Florida by a distant descendant, who doesn't intend on returning it.

So, can you tell me, is there a Sexton or should I contact the Pandora town-board?

Thank you,

RE: Smith @ Hepler's C of G Cem
Thanks for letting me know. Everything I found so far says 10/17/1844. Death cert is usually right. I'll fix it on my end too. Thanks again.

Jeff Harvey
This person is listed as being buried in Pleasant Hill, Hughesville, but the obituary says burial is in Exchange Cemetery . . . can you please advise? There is a photo request for it.

St Nicholas Churchyard, Hetton
I have been today to take some photos. the cemetery which I went to what I thought was the cemetery, but had the wrong one (Hetton Cemetery), this is the only one I knew of. I asked a lady where St Nicholas is and she said that she doesn't know if it still exists. apparently there was a fire at the church and there was only the front of the building left. She said that she thought they are now building houses on the site. I drove past where she told me it was and as I passed on the road I could see that the place is now rubble. If you Google the church, there is a photo of it on Facebook before the fire (you can see this without being a member). You might be able to find out more about it on there. Be careful that you don't get the church in Durham City as that is what came up when I put it in Google. You can see the front of the Church on Google maps.

The church is set back a little bit from the road which is the A182. You need to be at the shops on the left of the map and the church is inbetween Pizzamatic and some houses. Only the front stands. I don't know what has happened to the graves.
