Hi Y'all. I'm a Central Pennsylvania native living in Eastern Georgia. I'm tracking down and documenting family names including Daugherty, Sprunger, Amstutz, Updegraff (and its variations Updegrave, Uptagrafft, Updegrove, etc.). I'm also interested in family names Antes, Bixler, Bressler, Coffee, Ferree, Gillinger, Habegger, Herr, Kendig, Logan, Pennington, Rothlischberger, Williams. |
I'm part of the great Pennsylvania melting pot, a descendant of Scotch-Irish, Swiss Mennonite, French Huguenots, Moravians, English, German, and Welsh ancestors. The "huddled masses yearning to breathe free."
I'm also looking for my wife's family including Devaney, Hayman, Holley, Leffler, Ricketson, Robertson, Seiter, Street, Tuemler, Williams.
I'm trying to photograph as much as possible, and create an accurate, historical record. I'll be glad to transfer non-family members. I've enjoyed getting to know my extended family members through Findagrave.
Please visit my famous relatives:

You're welcome. I was happy to do it.
|Storres Myers||RE: John P. Anthony|
You are welcome. He is in the Sliffer family plot and I don't see any relationship to the family. I will get a photo of wife Ellen Ernhart in Cedar Hill when the weather breaks.--Storres
Thank you for seeing that. I did check the transcriptions and it showed that he was buried in Cross Creek, maybe at one time he had intentions of being buried next to his first wife Sarah but family buried him with Dolly instead. I did delete him. Take care - Cindy

You are most welcome, Bill.
There was an identical-design nearby marker for a Lee Curtis, 1906-1983, marked Husband & Dad. I snapped that one, too, just in case it's someone you need.

|Donita Hess||Robert Roland Evans|
My name is Donita Hess and my grandfather was Charles Franklin Antes, Jr. My family does not know who my grandmother's grandfather was (not even my grandmother). Everyone is from the Tower City, PA, area. I looked on ancestry.com and found some info, but I was wondering if you might have some insight. My grandmother is Ruth Helena Evans Antes; her father is John Newton Abraham Evans, his mother was Hettie Vienna Lucas Strohecker. She gave birth to her son John in 1886; no father was identified but John was given his father's last name. While doing my search, I came across John's WWI draft registration card. For the person to contact in case of emergency, he wrote "Maggie Irene Evans" which might (I think) be his half-sister. Robert Roland Evans might be the missing link in our family. Many members of this family area buried in Muir, and my mother returned to live in Muir a few years ago. She said that there are many Evans' in the area, and she would like to know if any are family. She is in her 80s, and I would like to help her figure this out. If you have any info, I would appreciate any input that you could give us. Thanks. Donita Hess firstname.lastname@example.org

I did have the photo of Alfred Hite's stone after all, so your last photo request for this cemetery has been fulfilled! Check out Hite Burial Ground's page, because there are several new ones listed there.

You are very welcome. From looking at your ancestors, It appears some are connected with the naming of the town of Latrobe, PA. I am sure you are aware but I was fascinated to see the connection.
