RE: Old Georgetown Cemetery
Thanks for replying. I went ahead and added my Perkins family who are buried in the Georgetown Cemetery (old part). I do not have photos of the 4 graves, but I hope someone in the future will make those. We visited & saw them about 10 yrs. ago. Thanks for your good work. L. Nelson

Old Georgetown Cemetery
K.C., unfortunately I did not as we found the cemetery record at the courthouse and was surprised to find the stones. I do not live there so would appreciate someone making the pictures. Thanks. L. Nelson

Old part of Georgetown Cemetery
K.C., we visited this cemetery a few years back and there found stones of my ancestors, Stephen Perkins(1823-1877) and Sarah Perkins (1825-1862) as well as two children - Boon Perkins (1858-1859) and Matilda Perkins (1850-1860). Has this part been catalogued yet? L. Nelson

I have taken pictures of all the northern section (next to Cemetery Rd)and part of the old Cemetery (far Eastern part); but I have not taken any photos of the middle section and the southern section. If you decide to take some pic's, I would appreciate if you would let me know what you have done ... no need for duplicate work.

I hope you find F-A-G as rewarding as I have; I have received help from people all over the United States and have hopefully returned the favor.

Thanx, Jerry White

Susan Elizabeth McFarland Abshire...Fairview Cemetery
Hi KC,

There are at least 5 or more Abshires laid to rest in this cemetery, but I have no idea where their plots would be located. My information was taken from their death certificates and a little extra research.

The caretaker of the cemetery might be the one to check with first. Sometimes there is a phone number listed on the entrance gate. In one cemetery in McKinney, I received help with locating a family member from the maintenance crew office located on the cemetery grounds.

Thank you for contacting me and for taking photos of the memorials. Some gravestones are deteriorating or being destroyed by neglect or by vandalism and might never be photographed.

Thanks again...and good luck

Linda

RE: Willis-Miller
Tom and his wife were in Johnston County are on the 1900 census, but soon moved to Liberal, Kansas were Alice's family was. Later Tom and Alice moved to Hutchinson, Kansas, where the daughter and her family remained until death. Jack's mother came here to Enterprise after she retired, but is buried in Hutchinson.

RE: Willis-Miller
My husband is a great-grandson of James Thomas "Tom" Willis, a younger brother of John Peery Willis. I have struggle with this family for years. Do you have any information on the parents, Henry J Willis and Martha Thompson. Henry, I think must have died in the 1890's. I tracked Martha into Johnston Co., Oklahoma, but lost her after the 1920 census.

Would love to exchange information on this family.
