I had been trying to find information about my Great-Grandmother but wasn't having much luck. I had forgotten how many different spellings there are for Massengill. I finally double checked on and found the 1940 census info. Essie was the mother of Grady Thomas who was my Mother's (Mae Doris) father.

Carol, Much appreciation for your time and effort in locating and photographing this marker for me. Looks like the stone is on its last legs with weathering taking its toll. At least you preserved it forever! Thank you, Ron
