Hello to everyone. Im from NC, born and raised.|
Im a retired law enforcement officer.It was an injury sustained that caused the early retirement. I took up geneaolgy as a
research hobby for information on my mothers side. Now Im hooked. I love fullfilling volunter
photos. It makes me happy to make someone else
smile. Photographing cemeteries is such a soul searching time for me. I want to think the founders of Find A Grave for having this oppurtunity for all of us to share.
God Bless Each and Everyone.

Buncombe county NC cemetery Inscriptions list Jim as being buried in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Skyland and not in New Salem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Swannanoa. I have visited this grave site and know it is in Skyland. Please change This to reflect the correct cemetery.

|Yvonne DeHart||RE: Margaret|
Here is the link to the photo posted on Find-A-Grave site. Your name is listed/credited as being the person posting the photo of Margaret "Peggy" Taylor McCoy. You did not take the photo because it is from the 1800s.
It would be great if the photo is of Randolph McCoy's wife, but there is dispute on a Facebook group that it could be her.
Thank you for responding so quickly.

I'm interested in where you obtained the photo that you have listed as Randolph McCoy's mother, Margaret "Peggy" Taylor McCoy. This photo has been copied and posted onto a Facebook site and listed as Randolph's mother, I trace it back to you. There is discussion on there how that it can't be her, for various reasons. If you have a FB account, I can add you as a member if you want to add to the discussion.
|Ronald Henderson||Station Cemetery and Old ..|
This may not be your problem, I'm new and have noticed that there are 2 almost full listings of interments with the different names. Many of these folks are my ancestors and are buried only one place. I have been there, but do not have an official name or the GPS location. I wish someone could/would fix this.
Hi Kelly...thanks for getting back to me. I guess the first question is if you are related to Dollie Waldrop or Ethel Treadway? Ethel you have photographed at Old Station and that is my friend's grandmother. I have seen various spellings of Waldroup and they all seem to be related to his Waldrop connection. Dollie was married to a John B. Davis who had a son named Paul Howard Davis. Paul Davis and Ethel Treadway had a daughter, but never married. Davis is buried at Upper Laurel Baptist Cemetery. Anyways...looking to connect some pieces between Paul and Ethel...and to see if you are related.

Can you message me about the Old Station Cemetery in NC? email@example.com.
A friend is in town, from Michigan, to visit his grandmother's grave and I am trying to help with the connections.

|Karyn Buckner Garvin||Tillery Cemetery duplicates|
Hi, could you and Ronald Halford get together about the problem with Tillery Cemetery?
I think there may have been two cemeteries for the same property at some point and they were merged, but this doesn't solve the duplication problem.
|Karyn Buckner Garvin||Big Cemetery Problem|
I think I've found a big problem with a cemetery in Madison County that looks to be on the Find A Grave Site twice under two slightly different names.
"Old Station Cemetery":
I've just spot checked and I see numerous duplicates between the two and from the looks of the photos on both cemetery profile pages, the property is the same.
Mike, I see you have most of the entries in the "Station Cemetery" which you added in April of this year, but there's a few other entries from late 2009 up through 2013 by a few other contributors.
Kelly, you have all of the entries in "Old Station Cemetery" from 2009.
I don't know which name is correct, I even saw an obit on one of Kelly's that said "Station Gap Cemetery". These cemeteries, if the same as I believe they are, are going to have to be merged. But this will not resolve the duplicate memorials, which will remain unless deleted one by one. A "deduper" program can be run by an Administrator to find EXACT duplicates but that won't fix everything.
Type in "Station Cemetery" in the Cemetery Search box and you will NOT get "Old Station Cemetery" to pull up on the list. You have to type in "Old" first.
This link will give you an idea how bad the duplication problem is overall with just one surname in both cemeteries (surname Allen, look at just the entries in these two cemeteries and ignore the others):
In some cases, and this is separate from the dupe cemetery problem, there's multiple duplicates for the same person in the same cemetery, not just between the two. (Kelly, see your Faulkners in Old Station, there's multiples for each person, sometimes 3 for each – there's a few more with other names, created a few days apart in Nov 2009)
I've spot checked some obituaries for Allen, Blankenship, and Blazer, and all say "Station Cemetery" – no reference to "Old Station", but I know DC's are not always correct.
I'm sorry to be the bearer of this bad news, but I hope a satisfactory resolution can be found, and it does need to be fixed. Please let me know what you would like to do, and I can request a merge to help prevent more entries from being added to both cemeteries. The cemetery can be called one name and AKA'd another if needed.
Thank you for adding the links requested. You were very prompt and I truly appreciate your time. Keep up the great work you are doing....
