I have been working on my own family tree since about the Fall of 1999. I started this project by doing transcripts of my own family's cemeteries and taking photos of the stones. I am sure this is how most folks get started doing this kind of thing.|
On my father's side, I am researching these names; Campbell, Clouse, Donalson, Edwards, Elam, Engle, Faris/Farris, Gillum/Gilliam, Harris, Hodge/Hodges, Hutton, Keck, Owsley and Riddle at this time. These surnames are from Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas, with ties to England, Germany and Scotland.
On my mother's side, I am researching these names; Cantley, Clay, Gibbs, Rorrer/Rohrer and Turner at this time. These surnames are from Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, with ties to Switzerland, Germany and England.
You have my permission to use any photos posted here as long as it used for research and not for profit.

Thank you very much for your help. I do appreciate it. I wanted to let you know that I have been working on this cemetery for a while now. The lady who made most of these memorials is now deceased and I'm doing my best to fix the mistakes and duplicates. It's an ongoing process, made easier by help from careful researchers like yourself. If you don't see a correction that you suggested made immediately, I just wanted to let you know that I'm not ignoring you, just being careful and diligent in making sure I don't compound mistakes. Thanks again for your help.

Thank you so much, Ed! I thought that might be a Mason's symbol but wasn't sure. Actually there is a Mason's Lodge in Gray, KY. It would be interesting to research the Mason's connection to our family. I will check out the book you suggested. Again, thanks! I really appreciate the information!!

I have not found your Martha yet, but I did add Albert, # 123462093, and Alberta, # 123462098, ROHRER today. They might be the same family, but with a different spelling.

Thanks for the transfers!

I was looking at the picture you took of Sampson Hodges' tombstone. (He is my GG Grandfather.) There is a symbol on the tombstone and I wondered if you might know what it represents. Also, do you happen to know the nationality of Permelia Annie Engle (wife of Sampson Hodge)? Thanks, Ed!
