Bio Photo Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The goal at Find A Grave should not be to manage all of your family members. If you have information to add, you should suggest it to the current manager and they should make the changes."
~Jim Tipton, creator of Find A Grave.

We have been researching for a couple decades. Families: Buckmaster, Patterson, Wollam, all variations of Teatsorth, Falk/Faulk, Johnson, Lee, Collier, Eschbarger, Orr, Brinton, Thomas, Grau, Hyde, Case, all variations of Brandeberry, Richcrick (Reichenbach), Slote, Balken, Ulmstead, Flower, Dick, Graham, Hyatt, and many more.

Also a focus on those who have fought for and kept us free ~ our American veterans. We have a virtual cemetery for these units: 31st and 49th Ohio Infantry who fought during the Civil War.

RE: Augustus Niles - 28410720
I actually came across his information while researching his wife's family in Allegan County.

1850 US Census: Wyoming, Kent Co., Mich
birthplace listed as Vermont

1860 US Census: Byron, Kent Co., Mich
birthplace listed as Vermont

1870 US Census: Waverly, Van Buren Co, Mich
birthplace listed as Vermont

1880 US Census: Chestonia, Antrim Co., Mich
birthplace listed as Vermont.

Augustus has a brother Thomas L Niles (b. 1832) is also listed as being born in Vermont.

Also found Vermont on his death record in the Michigan Death and burial index.

Hope this helps.

Memorial# 46934098
Hi :)

Re: Eva Buckmaster, you asked if this could be a duplicate, but didn't give me another memorial# to compare it to. I did a name search and don't see another one.

Let me know if you're seeing something I'm not.

49th Ohio Infantry
I don't know if you are still interested in collecting names for the 49th Ohio -- or maybe your virtual cemetery is for family members. But James Ferris Find A Grave Memorial# 102388778 served in Company E, 49th Ohio Infantry.

Philip Merlau
Earlier this week I visited the Prairieville Cemetery and stopped first at the township office to get the location for Philip's grave. The clerk searched the computer, but did not find anything for Philip. Sarah is in Section B plot 217, grave 1 and Daniel is in that same plot at grave 5. There is a large monument with the Merlau name that I photographed and added to his memorial site, but there were no individual names on it. There was a gap between the monument and grave 5, so he could well be buried there, but with no stone. The clerk offered to let me look through the old record book, but I did not have time to do that. My husband's parents and brother are buried in this cemetery and since we were visiting their graves, thought I'd try to fulfill some photo requests. Just thought I'd let you know this background info to explain the photo without his name.
