Bio and Links
Bio Photo In the 1980's I started researching my Linn ancestors (without benefit of computer) but got busy with my sons' activities and put it on hold. In 1999 a cousin got me involved with my Steinberg ancestors and I have been going full speed ahead ever since.

Upon graduating from the University of Illinois my father obtained employment in the State of Washington, far from any relatives. My ancestors (after entering the USA)settled in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Montana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey - I want to experience first hand where and how they lived so I travel the country obtaining data, meeting people, seeing the sights and tramping cemeteries. I missed the "cousin experience" growing up and think that is why I enjoy genealogy so much -- meeting new cousins (who cares if they are 1st or 10th cousins)and sharing our family histories.

I am researching Linn, Gibson, Weir, Scott, Polk, Steinberg, Koerner, Mitten, Bennett, Switzer (Swisher), Slonaker, Shaw, Goff, Townsend, McCarty and Whitehead, Miller, Schroen, Glabe, Schafer/Schaefer/Shafer. I am also reseaching Dishon, Deshon, DeShon, Deschamps and Herrold for my two sons.

Clara May (Linn) Wagoner, Jackson
Jan I have found a duplicate of Clara May (Linn) Wagoner. May be are all ready aware of this. Memorial #78521453 is listed in the Cimarron Kansas Cemetery, this is not correct.
My great grandmother is actually buried in Hutchinson Kansas Memorial# 121840924. I did try to contact the creator, but was unable to. I saw that you posted a photo and have corresponded with you in the past on our Linn families. I have never seen a younger photograph of Granma Clara before! Where did you find such a great picture? Thanks!!

RE: Augusta Bennett
Ok, thank you. I remember her dearly, she was 12 years older than my grandpa. We visited and since she didn't have enough bed, my sister and I slept on the cushions of the couch on the floor. Sister got 1 cushion and I got 2. I was bigger and older.

Are you a relative to Aunt Gussie? If not, I would love to have her memorial. I know it's not within the 'rules', but just if you would consider it.

Jacob Swisher
I checked in at the cemetery office and Jacob
Swisher is listed and his stone is on the map.
When we reached the area of the cemetery, the stones were quite illegible even after I cleaned them. Most were rather smooth.
I wish we had better news.

RE: Memorial# 104515314 William Klingbeil
I am sorry to say that that is the only information I have on the two daughters of William Klingbeil. It's been a while since i looked at these records. I notice that someone else has added a son that I was unaware of. William was related to my wife through her grandmother Esther (Bill's sister). I only met him once when I got married in 1974.

RE: War Veterans
I am afraid I don't have any category for him. You have created beautiful memorials for your family. I enjoyed browsing through them. Thanks!

RE: Phillip and Catherina Riehm
Hi Jan, I don't think much of those silly transfer guidelines. I am happy to put the Riehms in the hands of family!
