Bio and Links
Bio Photo First & foremost-I am not an obituary chaser and with that fact in mind- Remember,"Genealogy Without Documentation is Mythology";
"If You Can't Prove It,Don't Claim It As Fact"
And let's not forget some of our Grandmas favorite euphemisms..."Saying,Thank You,Opens Many Unexpected Doors..." and "When you have standards, morals and ethics, you create enemies sometimes."
After the great age of using only pen, paper, stamps & libraries to do research work,I discovered the INTERNET & started way back in the early 90s working online as a local volunteer with the original "Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness/RAOGK" website operated by Doc & Bridget Schneider. I worked with them for over 10 years until the site sadly ceased operations. I've continued as a volunteer researcher,contributor,Look-Up volunteer & Cemetery Transcriber on Rootsweb,Pa-Roots & the USGenWeb Project in Pennsylvania. So with over 39 years experience as a genealogical history researcher;creating memorials here on FindAGrave isn't a race, It's a quest to create accurate, useful & meaningful memorials for those who have gone before us & for all who find them here. I've been honored to work here with many really wonderful people & I will continue to share these memorials with their rightful family members and with my various cousins.
When using this website as a Genealogical Tool-PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR SOURCES ALONG WITH YOUR SUBMITTED EDITS TO ME USING THE 6th EDIT OPTION ENTITLED "Suggest any other correction or addition". Long form edits will sometimes land in my SPAM file,if you don't hear from me in a few days, email me direct.

My main objectives:
Photograph our local cemeteries, locate lost burials & follow up with extra researched information that I can locate to add to the memorials I have had the honor to create here on FindAGrave. All additional verified sources can be seen listed at the bottom of the memorials bio sections, which I put there for the convenience of others using this website.

So,for the folks who use this site & continue to share the information they find, freely with everyone, you have the never ending gratitude of 1000s of researchers who also use this site on a daily basis.I think playing together nicely in the genealogy sandbox takes into account spotlighting the good work others are doing too. Please remember that the majority of the members of this site are volunteers, both for entries & photo requests. They spend their time & money to do this out of a shared passion & love for history;we do this freely in order to memorialize those who have gone before & to remember our family members & friends. It requires cooperation & teamwork, which sadly, some folks here lack these mindsets. In my experienced opinion, which is also shared by many; If you don't like to do these things, we'll suggest that you take up a different hobby!!

To those other people who go thru life with a general bad attitude, who enjoy re-writing history to suit themselves, who feel that they are entitled & generally egotistical towards others, those few self righteous- self absorbed bullies, who feel they are exempt from following the rules of good conduct...This AIN'T FACEBOOK...So keep your drama & insults to yourself !
BEWARE of transcriptions, published, online or otherwise-Many innocent mistakes have been found in these popular published works...I've walked these cemeteries & I verify against burial records & other multiple sources.
IT'S 1st COME 1st SERVED REGARDING ALL TRANSFER REQUESTS !! Transfer requests should be for your own direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, your parents, your grandparents, your great-grandparents, your children, your grandchildren, and your great-grandchildren.For all "Out of Guideline" transfers will be considered depending on the situation;Explain your complete relationship & we'll go from there.Keep in mind, simply stating that someone is in your "family tree" doesn't entitle you to anything.

I will not transfer memorials for folks who are related to my own family lines.
The Flower & Token option is for saying things like "I loved you" or "We Miss You",it's not for OBIT information or EDITS to memorials,it's just as easy to send me the Edit and a Flower!
If I have made a mistake or you would like me to add something please let me know through the edit tab for that memorial & include your information along with your valid sources.
Before entering a new memorial,I always verify 1st that memorial for an individual does not already exist. I do the same thing when looking for a particular Cemetery Database listed on FindAGrave. In turn, I ask all contributors not to create duplicates of any existing original memorials & to search thru the current cemetery database in the county you may be working before creating a new cemetery or memorial. Duplicate cemeteries & memorials are at risk of being merged when found;which is as it should be according to FindAGrave guidelines. If any contributor decides to remove their photos from a duplicate memorial or cemetery that they created that is their decision. It's also their option to leave their photos in place. But -laying blame for your own innocent mistakes /personal actions onto another contributor or person who may have requested a viable merge,is simply a cop-out.It's OK to say "Opps" and move on.
Remember...Sources,citations,friendly conversations & discussions are always welcome!
- Regarding my grave stone photos, they may not be modified/altered in any way .When used in other internet venues please use the photo source citation by referencing "Find A Grave" or along with my name & contributor number in the Description.
>>> I want folks to use my photos BUT they must also include the above information as a SOURCE <<<
Other photos of documents which I have added fall within the Public Domain & Fair Usage Laws-I also have obtained all of the required permissions to use those items in this venue.
Philippians 2:3 & 4
"Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interest, but also for the interest of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ."
Thank you,to my good friend,Donna H.

Need local me!
I'm here to help in any way I can.

As of July 2012, all 9 sections have been photographed & uploaded to the cemetery database. There are 100s of unmarked burials there. Additional work is being conducted to identify those burials.

RE: The Gregorys'
Hi Marianne,
I've just added a grave photo for the memorials of James Gregory (d.1875), his wife Alice (d.1883), and Nancy (d.1907). Nancy is recorded as the wife of Alfred Gregory, and therefore appears to be the daughter-in-law of James & Alice, not their daughter. Her memorial may therefore need amending, if correct.
Best regards, Stephen.

RE: Re-Clarence Burns
Marianne... thanks for the kindness of your message, but you didn't miss linking Clarence to his father. That memorial was only created earlier today. I'm not family, so if you're related, let me know & I can transfer it over to you.

RE: Thank You...
I'm happy it was a match since only his birth date was there. So I am very happy you found him.

Have fulfilled your request and also added the photo to Ada's memorial. Her stone has a death date. You may want to add that to her page.

Help needed
Dear Marianne,
I have a find a grave site for

Jacob C Muench

Find A Grave Memorial# 166271160

however, someone posted a picture of his wife's headstone on his page. That person does not allow for me to message them to fix it.

I'm not sure how to delete this image from his page. Would you be able to help me out? Thanks in advance.
