You're welcome, Martha. I was going to return to get photos of the Armstrong markers when I realized they were connected, but it's been snowing like the dickens and they'll be covered. Will get them at the next thaw.

I am working on William's page and finding records as well as the biographical info from his wife's obituary to be helpful. I think the info in the flower section belongs to a different person, so that has to be removed. Thanks for your info. I appreciate it.

Lamb Family
You're very welcome for the photos of Burjo and Virginia Lamb's headstone. Unfortunately, there is no headstone for Mitchell Lamb at Fair Oaks Cemetery though I was able to confirm that he is buried there.

Yes. Here in the south, plot means the grave space, like "plot of land'. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi Martha

No there is no death date for William Ruggles. Parish records were not kept in England until 1532, if he lived that long. Apparently the first register was lost because the earliest records for Holton-cum-Beckering begin in 1560. That leaves wills and other documents for location and time. The research on the Ruggles was done long ago and there is published material on the family going back over 100 years.

If you are wondering about a stone, it has probably long ago lost, possibly used in construction or there ever was one.

RE: Memorials with no actual stone
ps. It sure would help if EVERY photo request were required to have a Burial Plot included.

RE: Memorials with no actual stone
Hello Martha, I am a Volunteer photo taker. Folks request a photo in cemeteries around the world. I go to those cemeteries and try to find the marker. When I can not find it, I try to find out why. In this case the City of Boston has a listing of known headstones in the Historic Cemeteries. William Lyon is NOT on that list. That does not necessarily mean he is not buried there. The person that created the memorial is responsible to verify the burial. I can not. So I try my best to explain that without offending the creator of the memorial. Unfortunately there are many folks that just "plop" memorials anywhere they want. And still others that will just "CLICK" Request A Photo.
sadly it is frustrating.
Happy New Year,
Celebrate Volunteerism.
