I live in the Wairarapa, New Zealand with my husband & 2x children. I have enjoyed helping people find lost & missing family members over the past few years. Feel free to leave me a message if you have extra information for someone.|
I am trying to add all local entries, but I also enter the deaths from the local paper, so I can connect them with any family at these cemeteries. (I do not keep copies of the obituary). For those entries which I have just the year of death date I have estimated the persons birth date, if you know the correct DOB date let me know and I will insure the correct information is entered. I am not related to 99.9% of my entries.
Many people like being able to see family members headstones as they don't live near but others may not, If you want a family member removed feel free to let me know. I am happy to do this.
I don't need to be abused for this to happen.
If I have made an error I'm also happy to change this.
Cemeteries I have done and are complete are
Akura Urupa> Masterton
Ahipanepane Urupa> Te Ore Ore, Masterton

Hi Jo Jo,
I have just solved a puzzle I had over Jeremiah Savage' birth date so have edited the info you have for his record for you to review but thought I should give you the background. Jeremiah's birth certificate has his birth date as 5 April 1873. However, church records have his birth as 1 March 1873 and his baptism on 2 March 1873. Parents were subject to a fine if the birth of a child was not registered within 21 days. Often, particularly in rural area s (the Savages were from rural Ballymacelligott) this was ignored and on registration the date of birth was altered to avoid the fine. Church records tend to be more reliable according to the rootsireland.ie website. Apologies if you already know that - just wanted to give you my justification for the change.
Thank you for all your hard work

Hi Jo Jo,
Thank you for updating details on the Walker family members for me. I see you have Zoe Walker Herbert 126095291 and Lionel Marsden Walker 126095260 linked as children with Uncle Enoch. I cannot find any link in our family and I cannot find any birth certificates for either. Are you able to provide me with any other leads that I can follow? Any info would be most appreciated. Thank you Julie

Thanx for reply. I have several listings at Greytown on Find A Grave.
If you could do them when you have a chance, I would be over the moon.
I require them for my family tree. If there is no headstone on any of them would you please photograph plot and enter on Find A Grave. xxxx

Hi Jo Jo,
are you still photographing headstones??
|Denise Gore||Waipukurau Cemetery|
Their records (usually with photos) are available online at www.chbdc.govt.nz
Since this website says I can only post phots I have taken myself, I won't attach from the CHB DC website but you might be able to find them for yourself.

I am going to the cemetery again this week, so will ring the Council to find out where to look for your grave and send you the photos next weekend, I hope. I go often as my Dad's grave is there.
Thank you so much for adding the Dunn family burials and headstone photos. You are doing a really wonderful job helping people find their lost family members. Keep up the good work Jojo. Best regards...
