Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Macon Co., Tennessee, and have been doing genealogical research for about 41 years. Since finding "Find A Grave", I have started adding as much information as I can. My Dad was from Macon Co., and my Mom was from Sumner Co.
Due to the fact that the court house in Macon Co., has burned 3 times, much of the information has been lost and the only way we can recollect it is thru others who may have the information in their possession. Only by helping others and hoping that others return the favor can we obtain this much needed information. Since retiring, I am trying to do my part. If anyone sees anything that I have listed incorrectly please let me know.

RE: Carter Cemetery
Hi Michael,

Thanks for the updated directions, I appreciate it. Do you know who create the cemetery on Find-a-Grave? Do you know the GPS coordinates for the cemetery?

I really appreciate your quick response to my inquiry.

Regards,

Ron Carter

Carter Cemetery
Hi Michael,

My name is Rondall Joe Carter. You posted a Memorial for William S Carter, Find A Grave Memorial# 138026335. You stated that he was burial at "Carter Cemetery, Macon County, Tennessee, USA". On the info page for this cemetery, you wrote "Cemetery notes and/or description:
I have no idea where the cemetery is located. The only evidence that I know of to prove its existence is on the death certificate of George W. Claiborne.". Could it be the "Carter-Chamberlain Cemetery' at 400 Franklin Ave,
Lafayette, TN 37083 the one you are referring to? You created a cemetery on Find-a-Grave for Chamberlain-Carter Cemetery with a photo of the cemetery with a photo of the sign for the cemetery that state that the name is "Carter-Chamberlain Cemetery". I appreciate all the work that you have done.

Regards,

Ron Carter

William C Johnson Cemetery
Hello Michael Meador. Thank you for having information and a picture of my 2 times Great Grandfather, William C Johnson. How did you get the picture of him? This cemetery of only 6 graves does not even appear in the Macon County Cemeteries list. I hope you know if it is still visible and not overgrown with weeds or destroyed. Could you take pictures of the grave stones and post them on Find a Grave. I would love to know status of the graves. Thank you for what you are doing for all of us seeking our heritage. RE: Kittie Ann Buck Wright # 121234165
Michael, thanks for clarifying these cemeteries.
When I checked the GPS coordinates for the Find A Grave Wright Cemetery and the W H Wright Cemetery listed on the TNGenweb site they were the same cemetery. It great to have a experience person such as yourself on the Find A Grave site.
I have deleted my memorial for Kittie Ann Buck Wright seeing your memorial is in the correct cemetery.
Thanks... Michael

Michael, I believe that the Stafford-Wright Cemetery and the Wright Cemetery are one in the same. Found one listing for Stafford-Wright Cemetery with a note saying it was changed to the Wright Cemetery.
In the Find A Grave Wright Cemetery there are 60 headstone pictures with a cemetery picture and none for the Stafford-Wright Cemetery.
I see that you added all the memorials for Stafford-Wright Cemetery. Did you also create the cemetery ?
From the TNGenNet Cemetery Database, W H Wright Cemetery is the the same as the Wright Cemetery.

http://www.tngenweb.org/cemeteries/#!cm=1275173

With the research I have done, I think the memorials in the Stafford-Wright Cemetery should be moved to the Wright Cemetery. The Stafford-Wright Cemetery should be deleted to alleviate future confusion. This can be done through the Find A Grave Community Forums.
From my past experience with Find A Grave cemeteries, if they do not contain a map or GPS coordinates Find A Grave administrators may come along and delete the cemetery even though there are headstone pictures included. This happened to one of my family cemeteries in Ohio last year. All the memorials turned into Burial Unknowns. I ended up having to document the cemetery location with a map, GPS coordinates and a statement from the Ohio Genealogical Society that it existed so there will not be any future problems.
Thanks... Michael
