Meriwether Lewis is in my family tree via my maternal great grandmothers family the Strong's, through Robert E Lee, also in my tree.

My question is, my great-grandfather & great-great-grandfather were William Lewis Seaman Jr. & Sr. I always thought they may be related as well.

Meriwether Lewis' father was also William Lewis. William Lewis Seaman Sr.'s mother was a Mayflower descendant.

William Lewis Seaman Sr's grandmother was Sarah Thornton.
Meriwether Lewis' grandmother was Elizabeth Thornton.

William Lewis Seaman's great great grandmother was a Tabitha Wood.
Meriwether Lewis' sister, Jane Meriwether Lewis Anderson, daughter, Jane Lewis Anderson, married a Benjamin Wood.

To many coincidences to count, and the fact that William Lewis Seaman married Venona Strong, who is also distantly related to Meriwether Lewis makes me convinced the Seaman's are related to this family as well.

If anyone can make the link for me I would greatly appreciate it.

My account is set as private, so no email available, please leave a message on this message board and I'll check from time to time for an answer.

Thank you

RE: Benjamin Wood Price
You are correct, I should have read the stone more closely. I will try to get back there soon and see if I can get more data.

Mary Elmore
Mary Martin Elmore Lewis Scott
You have a memorial for Mary Martin Elmore Lewis #85293024 which was entered into "find a grave" on Feb 21, 2012. She was not buried in the Old Waverly Cemetery, but in the Willis Cemetery.

This is a duplicate of the memorial for Mary Martin Elmore Scott #39023303 which was entered into "find a grave" on Jul 03, 2009.

These two memorials need to be merged.

Mary Martin Elmore was married twice, first to Hamlin Freeman Lewis on 21 Jan 1840 and second to James Edward Scott on 6 Jan 1859. She is my great great grandmother.

Thank you,

Mary Elmore Kellogg Cowart

Thank you for sending all the links for this family. They are all in the same plot and it is nice to get them linked.

If I can do anything else for you, just let me know. There is one of them that I forgot to add the individual headstone photo, and I will be doing that shortly.

Best regards,
B.J.

Correction: I meant that the obit is still [not] clear as to whether he died in Oneida or not.

Hello, I received your edit request on the location of his death. His obit infers that he died in Oneida, but it is still clear. I have other evidence that he died in Syracuse, but was buried in Oneida. So, what do you suggest I do?
Thankyou for your attention.

Gil Allison
Margaret Callie Allison Schwiening
May I request a transfer of Margaret Callie Allison Schwiening who is buried in the Sonora Cemetery, Sonora Texas? She is the daughter of my great grandfather George Sutton Allison and sister to my grandfather, G C Allison. I have recently posted the remainder of the Allison clan and had the other Allison members transferred to me from another man, unrelated to the family.

thank you for the consideration.
