2010, I am in the process of gathering the soldiers of the Civil War 85th ILLinois Infantry Regiment into virtual cemeteries.|
Please email me if you know the resting place of any soldier I have not yet found.
Origins of Companies
B---Fulton and Mason Co.
F---Tazewell and Woodford Co.
G---Fulton and Schuyler Co.
September 2013. I have started a virtual cemetery for Mason County IL WWI Veterans.
2012 Virtual Cemetery for victims of the Chatsworth Train Wreck in my list virtual cemeteries.
I generally try to add whatever additional bio I can find when I enter a memorial, military or otherwise. I use Ancestry.com , marriage and census records, and other similiar types of search sites.
Please contact me if I enter incorrect info or links.
I enjoy taking and posting photos.
Cemetery walking involves planning, time, gas, bees, flies, gnats, ticks, assorted other bugs, dogs, burrs, briars, weeds, tall grass, snakes, scrapes, cuts, mud, dirt, snow, rain, dust, wind, sun, rutted roads, hills and dales, getting lost, and BUCKETS of sweat.
I had to throw my lunch to a couple wild peacocks headed my way. Seems they have a fondness for egg salad.
I appreciate those folks who list their source when posting my photos to Ancestry.com :)

Thank you Debra! Just got lucky--looked at all graves in the cemetery and was thrilled to find her. Thank YOU for taking the time to document her. She is a distant relative of mine and I think the Brown family she married into is also related to mine.
Keep up the good work--you really make it so easy for the rest of us!

I am so thankful that you created the memorials for them. I've been searching for where they were buried for awhile now and it answered some questions for my family. I have one aunt, the second to youngest of my dad's siblings that is still living and she will be so happy to know that I have found her sisters. She did not know where they were buried and did not know much about them as she was not born until 1924 and just celebrated her 91st birthday.
Thank you so much for reuniting them with their family.

Not sure if I ever thanked you for letting me know about the photos you took of the Waughop/Bassett line. It took me over a year, but thank you so much! Great work.
|Shanon||Thanks very much!|
I'm tracing new names on my mom's side and I found several of their graves are memorialized by you. Thank you very much for all that you are doing.

Thank you kindly for transferring my great-grandfather's brother to me. You have solved a family mystery.

Hello, Debra, and thank you so much--I would be pleased to have William Thomas Leas transferred to me. I am unaware at the present time of anyone named John Lea or Leas, but I am certainly hoping to learn of any connection that might be proven. Thank you again for all you have done and continue to do on Find A Grave!!
