Bio and Links
Bio Photo The index is now ready for distribution - contact me if you want a copy of it.

I have spoken to the Poughkeepsie Journal (owned by Gannett Publications), who referred me back to their newspaper where is stated that all obituaries, pictures and information MAY be used by the reader in whatever way they wish, including reproduction for reposting electronically in part or whole for publishing. With this in mind it is my notification that I do have permission to post the obituaries I have placed on memorials and ask that they remain.
I am currently working on putting together a book to include the over 3,000 obituaries I have located for family members with indexing and cross-referencing. This project will probably take up most of my next few months, but I will still be posting here on Findagrave as I discover new family members. Anyone interested in copy of this book can contact me at my e-mail address. Since it is looking to be a large book, I may split into two parts: men and women.
I have been researching my family tree for about 30 years now, and just started really going through graveyards looking for family members about 20 years ago. I have found more information on the internet in the short time I have been researching here than in all the time I spent in libraries, courthouses, and town halls. I will be taking pictures of gravestones of as many people as I can and adding to local cemeteries and over the spring, summer and fall of 2016. If anyone has a family member, that I have added to this site, to yourself (who is not a direct family member for myself) please let me know and I will be happy to transfer ownership to you. I'd would rather have family members maintain memorials than a stranger who has no connection, but I feel no burial place should be neglected or forgotten. If there is someone or a graveyard you wish me to find for you in the Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster County areas let me know and I will add it to my travels. My hope is to do a complete census of as many cemeteries as possible over the next few years.
Another note: for old New York newspaper articles you can use They have papers from the 1700's to 2000's. You can search for family members there.
One more note: I hereby give permission for all to use photos I have posted. I feel that if these are your family you have as much right to add them as I do. You do not need to ask, and I do not require you to attribute them to me, unless you wish too. It is good to find loved ones and I am happy that if I have found yours for you.

RE: O'Dell in Verbank Cemetery
Underneath the photo of the O'Dell graves is the photo of Wesley's stone. In the group photo Wesley is in the back left, Kevin O'Dell is on the right of Wesley, Mary is in the front. I believe Horace is on the right but can't make out the stone. If you need a clearer photo let me know.

Hello Patrick, I was looking at your Obituary book online, you did an amazing job! You have more energy than I do! I have about 7 family trees going. I work on my family and some of my in laws trees. I am currently working on my husband's Zeyak family., can you tell me if there is an easy way to search the obituary file without paging through each page; I.e. The last name Zeyak? Thank you for all you do, Edna Hopper Zeyak

Thank you Patrick for updating his memorial.
Although I'm not directly related, other family members are and I'm sure one day, they'll appreciate all the work that we do. All the best to you and your endeavors.

Jesse Oakley was born at West Hills, Huntington, Long Island, April 28, 1748. When a young man he came to the "new lands" of Dutchess County, settling on a farm at Hoxie's Corners in Beekman, where he afterward kept a large country store. October 17, 1775, he was commissioned
as First Lieutenant under Capt. Vincent in the Fifth Regiment of Dutchess County Militia, but his name is not in the Roster of State Troops, and from the known loyalty of his wife's family, it is doubtful if he ever served. He was Supervisor of Beekman, 1792-96; Member of Assembly, 1794-97. He removed to Poughkeepsie in 1802. November 29, 1808, he married (2) Mrs. Susan (Romeyn) Linsen, 1768-
1834. He died, November 9, 1827, and was buried in the Dutch Burying Ground on the North Road.

Jesse Oakley was the youngest child of Thomas Oakley,
and his wife, "Patience Cornwall," (?) who married (2), 1766,
John Cornell. Their issue '^ was :

Willis Keator
The e-mail address link does not appear to be working.

I am attempting to find the Willis Keator who married Mary Ann Garrison 7 Oct 1853- May 1882.
Findagrave Memorial #104845332 for Mary Garrison Keator shows an inscription "wife of Willis Keator" on Mary Ann Garrison Keator's gravestone. Old Redkill Cemetery, Roxbury, Delaware County, New York, USA.

Any chance that you know more than I?
I am just beginning to look at this VERY DISTANT connection to someone in the Garrison family that might link to both my maternal and paternal trees. (Neat if it is ... but not exactly what I want while trying to keep the 2 potentially HUGE trees separate and not duplicated.) Not sure if or where this will take me in the right direction so I'll just say thank-you for your diligence and collaboration for all who can relate to the need of your bigger project. My goal is the same for the Darnell family members who migrated to Illinois.

Luthenia Brown Connolly
Hi Patrick. Can you do me a favor? Can you see if you can find an obit in the PJ for a Luthenia Brown Connolly, wife of William, died 9 Feb 1943. I'm trying to help someone track down her family, Luthenia being the 2nd great grandmother. If I can get an decent obit of her, it would be a great help. She's buried in St Peter's in Pok, and supposed died in Pok.

Appreciate your help
