Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello, I have always been interested in history especially where my family is concerned. My roots are in Bohemia and what is now northern Poland (Prussia / Pomerania). My wife's family has roots in Bohemia and central Poland (Posen area). I maintain memorials primarily for family members. I strive for accuracy in all of my efforts so please use the edit features to recommend changes if necessary. I'm always willing to answer questions.

Good Morning, We were wondering if you would allow us to use your picture in our family tree? Please know as fellow volunteers we always cite both Find A Grave and the photographer as our source unless asked not to. We want others to know who truly deserves the credit. Thank you so much for considering our request. S

Vajgrt at Bohemian Cemetery, Omaha
Hi Mike,

I entered a memorial for Anna Vajgrt (1889 - 1952) see 161128981. She is next to Bohumil Vajgrt and Helen Vajgrt McPherson (who already have memorials). Let me know if you would like to take ownership.

Hi Mike - Happy New Year!
I was a little delayed processing the edits to link Peter to his parents due to holiday travels.

I've tried in the past to process edits from my phone but it seems with the time it takes to process, the process stalls and ends up a mess! I've gotten "rudely snarled at" by one volunteer (yickes!) - so I waited until I was on a good connection to process this recent set of edits.

Please send an edit through, if you would like me to transfer the memorial to you. It would be my pleasure to make sure a family member was taking care of the memorial page. If not, that's ok too. I remember taking these pix in Oshkosh and talking with you in the past! Hope your research is going well!

RE: Salasek Vajgrt connection
Well, we certainly are related. :) John Salasek is my great grandfather. When I was a child I remember my family (Dale Salasek) visiting Mary Vajgrt in Osh Kosh. I saw Bob Vajgrt in 2009 on our family farm in Marshalltown, IA when we had a Salasek reunion in honor of a Czech relative who came to this country to visit for the first time.

I sure wish I could find the Salasek ancestors to Antonie Salasek. She seems to have had a sister Josephine Holubar.

If you send me your email address, I will invite you to the Salasek family page on MyHeritage. There are many Vajgrts in it and I think there are Vajgrt families that I haven't connected together within the site. You can even add family that you know.

I've really gotten into the family genealogy thing and actually visited the Czech Republic a year ago. I saw the villages where my ancestors were born and even the houses. It was absolutely fascinating.

Salasek Vajgrt connection
I imagine we're related in some way as we have Vajgrts in our family. (from Osh Kosh, Wisconsin) But right now I'm wanting more to know about the photo with Antonia Salasek Chalupnik and family that you added to Find a Grave.

I've tried to find more information about her possible family connection and hit dead ends. Where did you get the photo? Do you know anything more about her family?

Thanks for any info you might have!
