Bio

I have enjoyed mysteries all my life.
When I discovered that my paternal grandfather, Enos Francis TROUT, Sr. married Sarah Chalfant TROUT, and that my maternal great-grandfather John Landis HERR married Barbara Kreider HERR, I absolutely had to find out if the married spouses were related to each other; perhaps they first met at a family reunion!?!
Now, sixteen years and 29,500 names later, I continue to be intrigued and challenged to find out all that I can about the TROUTs in Lancaster County, Pa., since they basically all descended from my sixth great-grandfather, Johann Wendel Georg TRAUT, an immigrant farmer from Germany. Discovering his homestead and burying ground near Paradise, Lancaster County, Pa. has been among my most exciting finds. I am a ninth-generation German-American. My newly-found relatives, and especially a fantastic TROUT researcher, Craig H. TROUT, have made this project nothing short of a blessing in my life.
Every minute of this ancestry research I spend in honor and memory of my wonderful father,a decorated Korean War veteran, who passed away following a 10-year struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.
I want to thank every individual who has helped me with TROUT information, and for each and every person who has transferred memorials to my care in order to preserve and complement the history of the TROUT legacy in Lancaster County!
I would be delighted to help you if I am able!

Gratefully,
Don Trout
