Bio and Links
Bio Photo My family tree, going back about seventeen generations, includes more than 2200 individuals in the following known families (in alphabetical order): Appleman, Bankes (including Petrus from Germany), Bopard, Bosman, Bruge, Carman, Cox, Crawford (Scotland), Davis, Fairfax, Good, Grey, Groff/Graf (from Switzerland), Guth, Habermann (from Germany?), Harrison, Hickerson, Hughes, Humphrey (William from England), Jaggle, Johnson, Kaufmann, Kempf (Germany), Keller (including Christian from Switzerland), Kiesel (including Johann from Germany), Kolb, Landes (including Christian from Switzerland), Lewis, Marshall, Mayer, Mercer, Peter (including Elizabeth from Switzerland), Peugh, Plucker, Richardson, Rickey, Rielin, Roberts (England), Schnellinger, Shelton, Smith, Southwell (including John and Ursula), Sporri (including Anna and Jacob from Switzerland), Standiford, Stauffer, Stellwagen (including Eva Maria from Germany), Stewart, Still, Stoneburner, Strickler (including Ulrich from Switzerland), Tatman, Taylor, Tutt, Updike, Wallace (Ireland), Weaver/Weber, Wilson, and Wohlschlager/Wollenschlager (Germany).

Recent family roots seem to point to English, Scotch, Irish, and Germanic origins; genetically speaking, the 92% probability of the R1b1b2 (formerly R1b1c) subclade would have originated in Central Asia/South Central Siberia while the mtDNA Haplogroup K (16224C, 16311C, 16362C, and 16519C) would suggest the Alps, Ireland, or the United Kingdom.

Perhaps my very distant cousin, Alexander McCall Smith said it best: I am "of very obscure origins from some dim and undistinguished town in a potato-growing area somewhere."

Andrew Carman
I just saw your recent addition of the gravestone of Andrew Carman.

In looking at my records and also the picture of his second wife's gravestone (Isabelle Maxwell), it appears that you may have put Isabelle's birth and death date in the information for Andrew. I can't read the tombstone of Andrew well but it appears to be the same gravestone as Isabelle.

Could you let me know if you have the correct date for Andrew. The dates you have for him match what I have for Isabelle from other sources.

Thank you.

Thanks for checking. His wife is buried there & my Great Aunt says he is there as well, but I'll keep looking & if I find him somewhere else, I'll remove him. Thanks again!
