I was born and raised in Atlanta, but have lived most of my adulthood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Coincidentally I ended up right where my roots are on my father's side of the family. Genealogy is my passion and I never met a cemetery I didn't like. I'm also into historic preservation, both of buildings and the lives of people no longer with us.|
As the daughter of a general and great-granddaughter of 3 Confederate veterans, I like to note military records of veterans on their findagrave memorials.
I welcome corrections/additions, but will no longer link to a "burial unknown" person. I have found this leads to duplicates.
FAMILIES ON MY FATHER'S SIDE: Irwin, DeWeese, Blackwelder, Babcock, Taylor, Wilbon.
FAMILIES ON MY MOTHER'S SIDE: Bryan, Battle, Pope, Atkinson, Yarbrough, Chappell.

Can't believe I left out the maiden name. I spent over an hour researching the family, adding missing links. Did over 5 generations! She was the mother of one of our best friends.
Now someone has come along, who must have created a "Burial Unknown" stating I need to delete mine as her's was earlier. I carefully searched the cemetery. I was there for the husband's funeral as the daughter was a member of our church.
She even used my research to link to family! There were no links when I first submitted.
So, I have asked for a transfer. We'll see what happens.
Hope you are well. It must be awfully hot out there in the cemeteries, but maybe you go early and then upload during the heat of the day. I'm mostly doing veterans graves. Was in Arlington over Memorial Day weekend to take one picture. Found none of the graves from this section had been entered, and those I took had no pictures. I was amazed.

Susan thank you for telling me about Marshall and Samuel Blackwelder. When I created those memorials I didn't realize that Roberta also went by Fairview. Thanks Carol

Awesome work on the memorial for Francis Columbus "Frank" McIntyre! This memorial includes information regarding William Jesse McIntyre, Frank McIntyre's son from his first wife, Nancy Morgan.
I am not related to this McIntyre family, but I thought perhaps a family member would be interested to know that North Carolina Marriages, 1759-1979 lists Nancy Morgan and Francis C. McIntyre married 22 September 1881 at Burnsville Twp., Anson, North Carolina.
One marriage record lists Nancy Morgan's parents as N. K. Morgan and Viney Morgan. Francis C. Mcintyor's parents are listed as Daniel R. Mcintyor and Elizabeth Mcintyor.
Thank you again for your efforts on Find A Grave.
