We live in Morton, Illinois and are both interested in history and family histories in particular. We enjoy visiting cemeteries and libraries in areas where our extended family members have lived both locally and as we travel.

|gale palmer||RE: James Garrison & SAR|
My line goes Edward King (grandfather)
Gregory Garrison 1849-1891
James Garrison 1823-1885
Mathew Garrison 1798-1846
James Garrison 1747-1841
I was fortunate that there was DAR app on file that I could piggy back on. All I had to prove was from James 1823-1885 to me. I use the DAR GRC data index to acquire a lot of data from DAR proofs. The SAR is not as strict as the DAR. The DAR won't accept SAR applications as proofs.If I can be of help let me know. Thanks again.

Thank you for taking the time to do this. James is my 5th grandfather. I joined the SAR under his service in the Rev War. When we start looking for headstones that old they almost never are found. Thanks again.

Linked with father even though it is a duplicate. Need to contact other person who seems to have made him his own child by the looks of the linking. They have made duplicates of other memorials already made.

Thank you for transferring ownership. I didn't recognize your name as a relative or I wouldn't have asked. I will be scanning more photos as time permits. I don't have your email unless I don't see it on Find A Grave. I would be more than happy to share any photos I scan. I have pics of both of JMB's wives and I believe one more of JMB. You can copy pictures from Find A Grave but you probably already know that. This is what I like about Find A Grave. Hopefully more relatives will be interested in their family if we post photos. I'm discussing the Dalton line with another Halford from NC.
I should get over to see Audrey. Time is usually a problem when we're down there.
I tried to find you in my genealogy but didn't find anything. I'm surprised my Dad didn't have that as he lived down that way for most of his life and he loved genealogy. Do you keep track of your family line with a genealogy program?
I don't see the email address listed on my profile page or yours. I ticked the box so mine would display when I first signed up. Anyway, here is my email: email@example.com

|Wayne||RE: J.M.B. Halford|
I'm happy that a relative created the page on Find A Grave for J.M.B. I posted a picture yesterday and will have another after I scan it. What is your first name? I used to go to the reunion all the time. My father passed on and I haven't been back since but I had some health issues for a while. Is Audrey Probst still with us?
A non-relative for about 16 graves in the Halford Cemetery decided that she would transfer the memorial to me. I just assumed she did the J.M.B. memorial but I was mistaken. I haven't been to the cemetery in a long time. I live in East Peoria and only get down that way maybe 5 or 6 times a year. I'm retired now so will be having some more time. I believe the township should have to make the road good enough to drive to the cemetery. You might contact them. When I do go there I usually take something to clean up some tall grass, weeds, etc. so it would be nice if the road was better. Keep me informed please.
