Here I am. Doing what I love doing. Cleaning lichen from the headstones in the cemetery, so the inscriptions can be read.|
2011 I started a Family Tree...What a wonderful thing to go backwards in time and find relations I never knew and will never know!! I found quite a few of my ancestors by researching cemetery data bases online. Some info but no photos of headstones, hence the reason for me listing on Find A Grave.
Maybe after I have gone, my descendants will know my past...
I hope the information I have entered on Find A Grave will help others to locate their ancestors.
If it does, I would welcome an email from you...
And, if I have made any errors, let me know and I will correct them a.s.a.p. XX

I don't have control over the cemetery photos. Find a Grave manages those and picks which one goes onto the memorials.
Send an email to email@example.com with a link (URL) to the cemetery and the name of the cemetery.

You're very welcome. I also photographed any other Stieller headstones that I came across and have added them to Findagrave as well.

Hi Glennise, unfortunately, Myrtle Necklen is in an unmarked grave.

Thank you for the thank you, Glennise. I have replaced/updated Violet's grave photo to reflect the plaque removal.

It was my absolute pleasure. I usually do this on my travels in France and Belgium. This was the only one requested at Cannock.
It's been an interesting weekend actually. On Saturday I attended a service commemorating the New Zealanders buried at Botley Cemetery in Oxford. All 9 had been thoroughly researched and a wreath was placed on each of their graves. The wreaths were made from native NZ plants grown at Oxford Botanical Garden.
Then onto Cannock on Sunday where most of the non-German burials are from New Zealand. There was a huge NZ training ground in Cannock. Many of them died of flu after the war. I even saw Freda's grave on the top of a hill on Cannock Chase. Freda was the NZ mascot dog. Her collar is in the Army Museum in NZ, Waiouru.
If you're interested in any of this and are on facebook, I have a dedicated fb page, my western front photographs.
Kind regards and thank you for the lovely message,

Just been to both East and West Taieri Cemeteries.
Could not find Hugh's Burial Plot in the East Taieri Cemetery. He is in the West Taieri Cemetery.
Could you please change this.
