Matilda Longcor Rice
Merry Christmas to you too Glen!

She has a Find A Grave record also in the Saint Johns Cemetery as Matilda Langcor Rice. Notice they spelled it Langcor not Longcor. Born 1852 Death Feb 21 1902. She was married to her 2nd husband John B Rice.

So she can't possibly be in both cemeteries.

Matilda Swarthout Rice I show was Born Apr 4 1846 and Death Dec 17 1932. She was only married once to Alfred Rice.

Anyway don't know how to clear this up. I have death certificates and a lot of info if you want it or should I contact the Cemeteries?

Matilda Loncor Rice
Hi Glen, Help me out here. I see 2 Matilda's here.

My relative Matilda Swarthout was married to Alfred Smith Rice. Born Apr 4 1846 Death Dec 17 1932. Her father was Elkanah Swarthout and Mother Catherine S Goff.
Her brother John Delos Swarthout is buried at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid also.

I see a marriage certificate for another Matilda Longcor to George W Ives.

So I don't know who's grave this really is.

Anything you can do to clear this up, I'd appreciate it.

I am also looking for Matilda Swarthout's fathers grave. I'm just guessing he is there but not sure. His wife Catherine remarried and is out there as Katharine S Allen in the South Ovid Cemetery.

ben c johnson
Dear Glenn,

Thank you for taking and posting the photo of Ben C Johnson's monument in Ithaca Cemetery. It came at the best time. I put together a book for each of my daughters for Christmas on my girls' Johnson line - Ben is their Gt. Grandfather. I did this because Ben's son was adopted by his step father after Ben died so young of T.B. contracted from contaminated flour. Ben was a baker.

Please send me an email and let me know what the note is on Ben's findagrave
With Appreciation,
Diana
