Bio Photo We live in the Raleigh, North Carolina area and have been friends for almost 25 years. We both love genealogy and exploring old cemeteries. We have come to appreciate how important cemeteries are to a family's history, so have decided to try to help others by recording, photographing and posting what we can on findagrave.

We welcome requests for cemetery information or photos in this area. Also, please feel free to make comments or corrections by contacting us via email.

Many thanks to our husbands and children for their support and help with this project.

Godwin Cemetery Fuquay-Varina Wake County North Carolina, USA
You note that there is no cemetery stone for "O. G" - just a footstone with those initials.

Perhaps the O. G. footstone belongs to the first born child of Flowers and Margaret Godwin: Ophelia, who was born abt 1856 and showed up in census records until 1880.

NOTE: no state of birth is listed nor any ditto marks to carry forth "NCarolina" from top line

Wood Family Cemetery
I want to express my gratitude to both of you for locating and photographing 2 of the graves from this cemetery. I live in New Jersey, but was able to get hold of Rufus and Della's Death Certificates hoping to find out where they were buried. I was disappointed to find his say he was buried "at home" and hers to say "family cemetery". Not being familiar with Wake Co. I did not know where to start to figure out exactly where they were buried. Not only have you found their location but you took wonderful pictures of the stones - very clear and large enough so I could easily read the inscriptions - and to top it off, you took the time and effort to actually link this couple together, something rarely seen when others add people to Find A Grave. You may want to make one change though, the maiden name of Rufus's mother is Welch, not Nelson, and if you don't mind, could you please finish linking Rufus to his parents, George Washington Wood #39587560, and Louise Catherine Welch Wood #39587707. Again, thanks for such a wonderful job.

Photo requests
If I didn't thank you let me do so now. It's hard to keep up with all these requests. I had to switch from AOL to Yahoo for notifications.
