RE: Poindexter Family Cemetery
Assuming Google Maps is correct about the county line, The Poindexter Family Cemetery is a few hundred yards into Scott County. The 1850, 1860, and 1870 censuses also list the Poindexters in Scott County.

I do not own the land. My wife's cousin, Randall Hockensmith, owns the land.

I added 2 new graves today. I hope to revisit the cemetery soon to look for buried headstones.

Mike, you never did delete your photo in this cemetery. We talked about it last year. Don't think it's related to the area. Just happened to run across it again while looking at the Scott County cemeteries.

Thanks for letting me know! My husband is from Stampin Ground, Ky and we appreciate this information. Next step is to check and see where my information came from, you never know. I have a cemetery in Wolfe County, Ky known as White cemetery, Horton cemetery, aka at least 3 other names. wow, who knew?
Thanks tons and know that I will check up on this.

RE: Mrs. Sinkhorn, Scott County, KY
I could read "horn". After looking at the surnames that were listed on and the Federal census of 1850 and 1860, the only name, which fit living in the area, was Sinkhorn. I did see that there was a Sinkhorn and Palmer that married in the 1850 time period. I was more reasoning that solid evidence.

RE: White Sulphur Cemetery Actually St. Francis Cemetery?
I think maybe the "locals" that are there now may be too young to know about it.

RE: Location of Wood Cemetery on US 25, Scott County, KY

The Wood cemetery is the family cemetery of my great grandfather Samuel O Wood. I have added all the names of those who were buried there. There are 15 rock stones and only 2 that are legible to read. The cemetery is on private property and the person who owns the land will only let the family on his land to go to the cemetery.

Hi Mike, how are you doing?

do you still work at the Scott County Library? Do you know if there any volunteers that could help me look up Obituaries?

Adams & Lear Cemetery
The Grove family has not been there to many years maybe 20 years, The Underwoods owned that farm for many years before that. Gertie James was a very dear friend of mine when i was a child I think there were a couple of isiters buried there, One Named Dora I know seemed like she was a twin sister. Not sure where Gertie son J. B. is buried but her sone James Buford James is buried near Stamping Ground at the Masonic Cemeteryhis wife still lives near the family farm and he has a daughter, I cant remember her name
Some where I have a folder that has the names of the people buried there, When I left there about 40 years ago it was grown up then
