|Bio and Links|
I maintain memorials mostly for relatives, plus a few others.|
After mentioning places in bios, I sometimes add decimal coordinates in parentheses, like this (61.74739 9.26042). These coordinates can be pasted into many geographic web sites to see the location (mapper.acme.com, maps.google.com, Google earth, but unfortunately the excellent Norwegian map site kart.finn.no doesn't accept decimal coordinates). Different sites don't quite agree on locations, so I go by Acme mapper.
I have two virtual cemeteries of people from the Fron parishes (Nord-Fron and Sør-Fron), Oppland County, Norway, in the historical region of Gudbrandsdalen, who are buried in the US. One has information added from the Fron church records and the other has no info added. Fron church records go back to 1799. People in Norway transcribed the Fron church records from 1799 through 1900 into a series of Excel files. These files are my source of the information. If you know of a person from Fron, you may ask me for a look-up.
Another of my projects is doing look-ups in "Compendium of History and Biography of Central and Northern Minnesota" (Chicago, Geo. A. Ogle & Co., 1904).

I think you have to do it through the "Discussion Forums" link on the left side.

I think the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery at Noonan ND. was on F A G when I started because when I added a cemetery, I always added the map feature.

Glad to help!

I just transferred John to you.
If you call Crystal Lake Cemetery, they will give you the exact location of Inga and Joseph's graves (which are unmarked) and any other pertinent info. Seems unlikely that Joseph was in the hospital for so many months before his death. You may want to check with the cemetery to see what they have for his death date.

Thanks for looking into this. My email address is email@example.com
I was looking at a Norway census for records of my great grandfather John G Stenerson and thought I found it at a location that had the name Lilleespe in it. So I googled Lilleespe and your memorial to Kari came up. In reading your memorial, I noticed some similar names (including John) and thought I may have found the right family. Now I'm not so sure.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for any information you might have! I really appreciate it. We are planning a trip to Norway soon and I would love to visit his birthplace.

I am looking for help in finding the birthplace of John G. Stenerson who I believe was born 12/30/1867 in Norway in the Oppland region. From my records, his parents were John Stenerson and Torgarda Vilhelmine Mary Melby. But in looking at your documentation for Kari Stenersdatter, I am confused as to possible relationships.
I have identified Gunder as a brother to John, but not Thor. Also not Kari as a sister.
Do you have any insight as to my great grandfather's ancestry or birthplace?

I can transfer if you're interested in doing the maintenance. I'm not related. It's not unusual for immigrants to have different birth dates on later records. Maybe they're leaving challenges and puzzles for us.

I noticed the headstone in TX too and was confused by it. I agree that this must be Kelly's father. Thanks. ~Terry

I don't have any additional information at this time for either John or Anna. I don't see them in the Minnesota death index either, so they may have lived elsewhere - possibly they had relatives in northern Iowa. An obituary search may turn up some information, but I haven't done that.
