Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised and work in northern Virginia. I'm a 64 year old Federal Government employee with 41 years of service. Almost ten years after its inception, I found this site quite by accident when a co-worker asked me to help him at lunch time take a photograph of a headstone that was overgrown with bushes. After that, I was hooked fulfilling photo requests, primarily at nearby Arlington National Cemetery.

Then it occurred to me that this would be a great place (free) to document my family tree for all to see, which would be based on the extensive genealogical research that my aunt has been doing for the past 15 to 20 years. This project of linking thousands of memorials is going to take a very long time (if it's at all possible) to complete due to several memorial creators, totally unrelated to my family, who will neither transfer ownership nor respond to SAC edits. That is not to say that all memorial creators are like that. Indeed, most are very gracious and totally responsive, and for that, I whole-heartedly thank them.

If I have a memorial for one of your relatives, I'll gladly transfer ownership upon request. If you make your transfer request via SAC edit and after two days I haven't made the transfer, please email me directly or leave a public message here on this page.

You have my permission to use any of my photos, as long as you include attribution.

Info from the Perry County Cemetery book by The County Familys updated twice by them with both lists. Mailed it just a few months ago, before Christmas, to a lady there. I will try to find her address. The book was a Centinal or BiCentinal for Perry County.

RE: Nishie McInturff
No problem - I am happy to work with you - have done several for you. I actually am on the cemetery survey team here, and prior to going out in the field, I check our survey records, then the memorial, then go to the field. I am not doing nearly as many individual photos, but rather am concentrating on specific burial grounds as I do the surveys.

Thank you so much for taking the time to locate, photograph and upload the photos of the site for Thomas Veit. The different angles of the photos were great perspective and all really enhance his site. Thank you so much for doing all of that.

Someone pointed out to me that you have made files on duplicate memorials. These can be sent in to Find A Grave to be merged. Send to

Hopefully now that Ancestry owns Find A Grave they will find an easier way to do this.

Thank you for the lovely photos! Sorry about the late acknowledgement, but I didn't receive the usual email from Find A Grave to let me know my request was filled.

Hi David -

We have been in Florida for the winter and now home. Just starting adding all my photo requests and wanted to thank you very much for the photos in Arlington National Cemetery. Fantastic shots.

Sorry for this late "Thank You" but hope you'll understand.

I'm doing the cemetery row by row, so that's probably a no unless Gladys was in the last row I worked that day. Not done with the cemetery yet so keep checking back. Have a nice day :)
