I grew up on Lions Den Road just south of Syracuse, NY. I attended and graduated from Onondaga Central School, class of 1965. I continued my education at Potsdam State University College, graduating in 1969 and entering the teaching profession. I taught grades 3-6 for 31 years before retiring in 2000.|
My time is now taken up with baby sitting my grandkids, doing family genealogy, cataloging my mother's photo albums on my computer, and digital photography which includes photographing butterflies at our local zoo's butterfly house (Watertown, NY). I also guide visitors through the butterfly house when I'm there so they don't miss seeing the eggs, caterpillars, chrysalids, and butterflies identified for them. I share the interesting facts I've learned from field guides about the various butterflies. It's fun to hear the folks discussing something they learned as they leave.
As an update (Nov 2010), I've been volunteering as an animal keeper aid (shoveling manure, etc., LOL!!). Have made some dear friends with the animal keepers and other staff, and have been photographing the other critters of the zoo from much better vantage points. Have gotten some incredible pics!
This site has been a real treasure find. It's allowed me to share much family info with relatives far and near that might not otherwise have access.

|Hope ||Clarina Ross|
I am seeking a photo of the individual gravestone of Clarina Ross, born 1767, died supposedly 1 Feb 1837, married to Ashur Ross (sometimes spelled Asher).
I found the Find A Grave Memorial #66241787, posted by Herb Reed as "Clarinda Ross" in Kinne Cemetery, Antwerp, Jefferson County, NY. My cousin is there now as I write this, trying to read names, despite stone deterioration and moss.
A legal guardianship probate document was found for Clarina Noble, transferring her inheritance from her deceased father, Zachariah Noble, to Ashur Ross on their wedding date, October 10, 1782, when Clarina was only 15 years old. Her name was recorded by the Barbour Collection as "Clarina Hall," but we believe this is in error, based on this handwritten document on her wedding date, signed by her mother, Kezia (whose grave shows her marriages to both Zachariah Noble and Isaac Daton), who remarried Isaac Daton, after her first husband's death at age 32. Kezia and Isaac are listed as Clarina's guardians on this document, and Clarina's name was clearly written as "Clarina Noble" who married Ashur Ross on the same day as the estate transfer document was signed.
I note the Hall name, because there are numerous gravestones in this cemetery with the last name of "Hall."

I noticed that you have added some Reed memorials to the Redwood, NY cemetery. Was wondering if you were related to those Reeds. I am the grand daughter of Harry and Ruth Snell (Pauline Reed's parents and Walter Reed's in laws).
