Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired Episcopal priest who has done genealogical work for her own family since 1990.
I used to serve as a Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness volunteer for Cottonwood County before that site closed. I'm still willing to do lookups. This is easy to do, as I live within a mile of the Courthouse and Historical Society. Or you can contact the Historical Society at They charge $10. per hour plus copying for research.
I am nearly done doing whole small cemeteries in Cottonwood County, Minnesota. The five of us working on that have finished all but the three city cemeteries. If I have been able to post a photo on the front page of a cemetery in CC you will find my status notes in the caption. My daughter thinks it's a waste of time but I point out that it gets me out for a walk up and down "rows" in the cemetery. [Feb 2013] Working on Mountain Lake from photos & register and Lakeview from a list. I am also working on comprehensive postings for columbariums in Minnesota Episcopal churches.
I will transfer any memorial I have created on request except those for my own ancestors or in my virtual cemeteries. Nor will I transfer to anyone who remains anonymous in their profile. It is difficult to trust someone who is so concealed. Nor will I transfer to the terminally rude unless you document the proximity of relationship required by the FAQ.
Considering all the recent zombie movies it's good to remember this "It is far better to be looking for dead people than to have dead people looking for you!"

RE: Oh yes
She was the mother of Ole Anton who had a farm very close to the location of this cemetery, her name on the 1880 census is listed as Gurine Jurgens but in the Jackson county death records as Guro Jorgensdatter, she died in May of 1883 and I have always assumed this was the cemetery she was buried in but assumptions and facts sometimes don't match. If you took photos of all the markers in that cemetery and she not among them then she either has no headstone or she's not there, personally I was suspecting no headstone that's why I was wondering if there is a list of all internments there. btw I have been to both Jackson Co and Windom to solve this but I have never been to that cemetery only because I couldn't find it, this was well before the internet and GPS and I've never been able to find an Obit

Saint Peter's Lutheran Cemetery
Hey Marilla,

I was looking back at the photo you took for me of Arthur Albert Oelke's headstone at the Saint Peter's Lutheran Cemetery and I can't tell where it is. Is it in Delafield Township? If so, is it near a town? Possibly Lakefield where he died?

Thank you so much!

Your friend,
