RE: Charles Salyer
OK,Shirley, I'm going to put Charles, Jr into the family of Charles, Sr married to Margaret Waters and if you find any information disputing this relationship, please let me know and I'll put him wherever he should be. Thanks for your prompt reply.

RE: Thanks
Shirley, you are welcome. I hope the information is helpful. I find it difficult to decide how to source the Quaker Records. However, I am eternally grateful that I have them because they have really helped me locate information that is not available elsewhere.

RE: Edit

You are correct that I should remember what edits I sent. I don't understand exactly how to use the message feature, but I will learn.

I did look at Elizabeth Curl Hadley last night and saw that Edward Hadley was listed as her spouse twice. This morning, he's not. So I did submit another edit to add him as her spouse. His number is 85621550. I also added the marriage year of 1844 since that's what is documented in the US Quaker Meeting Records, 1681-1935, for the White Lick Monthly Meeting which was in Morgan Co., IN.

Charles Salyer 32175250
Hi Shirley,
I'm wondering where you've gotten your sources for Charles Salyer, born 1822, parents. He was linked to Charles Salyer, Sr. and Margaret Waters in which is what my sources were. Someone deleted his parents to link him with James Scott Salyer, Charles, Sr's brother. I found Charles Jr and Charles Sr living 2 houses from each other in the 1850 census Fayette, Indiana and Charles, Jr's wife was Rebecca and 3 of their children: Sarah, James M, and George W. which are the same children that Charles and Rebecca West had. This leaves me to believe that this Charles is the son of Charles Sr born in 1797, James's brother. What are your sources that would prove otherwise?
Thanks so much!

RE: Edward Hadley
Shirley, I thought a little more about your question and decided to explain the general format of the documentation I have. Edward Hadley was a Quaker so there are a number of records online accessed via that contain information on him.

An entry in the US Quaker Meeting Records 1635-1935 lists his birth date as Sep 13, 1823, and the birth location of NC comes from the 1880 census where he and Elizabeth were living in Union Twp, Dallas Co., IA.

US Hinshaw Index into Quaker Records lists his birth date of Mar 20, 1900. It's from the Earlham Monthly Meeting, which is in Earlham, Madison Co., IA.

His marriage to Elizabeth Curl is also documented in the White Lick Monthly Meeting records. This MM is in Morgan Co., IN.

If you have an account, just search for all information about Edward Hadley, and many links to Quaker documentation will show up.

RE: harrell family
Glenna Lee BATTIN Harrell--1926-2009, is my 5th cousin once removed. Her mother was Ida Pearl Runkle Battin- her line is from the brother of my 3rd great grandmother Christina Runkle,(she comes from the Martin,Jacob, Johann Ludwig(John Lewis) line.
She married my 3rd great grandfather, Jeremiah
Runkle, from the Jeremias, Samuel Runkle line. So I got double-dipped in the Runkles.Lizz

I sent you a lengthy email under the edit part of my grandmother's grave.
Just letting you know here, as I read your note about not using edit.

They are taken directly from Kennett MM ( almost all are from Kennett) or New Garden.... if you click on the link, it should say which Quaker record it is from.... unless I forgot ;)
