Cordelia Lee‏
I posted the information for Cordelia Lee but I noticed that the birth year and what's on the headstone don't match. The birth year on the headstone is 1870. The year on the info you sent me to add is 1874.

Are you sure this is the right person you sent information to be added for? I want to make sure that I post correct info when I get it.

RE: Old Tacoma Cemeteries
I would appreciate having the info so I can look up the names and maybe find some other relatives. You are so kind to help. No telling when I can get back to the cemetery so having access to the microfilm would be great. Many thanks.

RE: Old Tacoma Cemeteries
Wow! I will need to check and see if I can locate the microfilm you mentioned. Did anyone let them know they missed several years? Maybe Chris would know who to contact. Yes, I did find my grandfather's gravestone and was thrilled. There were 10 others buried there as well. There could be more during that missing period. We found Chris to be an outstanding help and very kind. He said he had some free time when we went in and what a treasure trove we found. I found my step grandfather, his wife and possibly an infant of theirs. I really want to look at the book or the microfilm to check on the relationship of several others I found. Many thanks for your input. Blessings to you and yours. Sharon

RE: Old Tacoma Cemeteries
We are on the same page. The three were once all together. They are administered separately now. We headed for one, ended up in a different one even though the land was once all one cem. "The Old Tacoma Cemetery" has a very nice administrator who opened the walk in fire safe and let us look at 2 books that were filled out at the time of burial. The one I was looking for was 1908 but the dates went back into the 1700's. These books list the cause of death, family, place of death and quite a few interesting details. You were right on with the Potter's field area. That part of the Cem. was closed on the Saturday we were exploring. That was my first time at the cem. I was visiting my son in Puyallup so a friend and I went exploring to locate my grandfather's grave. Even though I lived in Tacoma until I was 10, I have lived in California since. Thanks for your input.

Old Tacoma Cemeteries
There are 3 Old Tacoma Cemeteries. There is a walk-in Fire Vault at one that houses books that have original recordings of burials, cause of death, family and more info. For anyone gathering records these books are invaluable. I discovered that my grandfather had a baby daughter buried on top of his grave. She was premature, lived only 9 days and died. All this was in one of the books. She was not engraved on the marker because she died 2 months after he did and the marker was already engraved. On the side of the marker was the record of his baby that died in May 1905. This baby died in Wilkeson where he was listed as Frank. There is no stone in Wilkeson. We do not know whether his body was transfered or if that was on his father's marker as a memorial. I understand that at one time all 3 cemeteries were connected. Be sure to check the history of their formation to find all those you are looking for. My Grandfather was buried there in 1908 but others were buried there in the 1700's. Good hunting.

John Starkel - I added a photo which I took over 10 years ago. If you don't want it there, let me know and I will gladly remove it. Amelia Stroh is John's sister, and her husband's marker is a small one on the ground in front of this marker...Judi

Memorial # 126397981

Her obituary says Mt. View in charge, you have a plot listed, but which "garden" in particular. My son has maps so I can plot where she is - I just need to know where. I haven't been able to find her husband Harry (Henry) E. Krohn yet. He died 1934 in Seattle. Thanks...Judi

RE: Also...
Thank you worked a little on Grandpa’s site and now feel a little more confident that I can do it Thanks to you and your great teaching. I intend now to set out to link all the family there together then link in the ones that are in Spokane and elsewhere. That is if I can get the ones that do not have a memorial started. That remains to be seen.
