I began working on my family history in 1998. My grandparents had so many photos with names on them...thus began my great adventure of tracking my relatives. I was a member of ancestry for 3 year, so much of my work prior to that time was with much help from other researchers. I believe in sharing the information that I collect since I won't be around for ever. After learning of find a grave, I began placing my family in their final resting places. In October 2011 I photographed the cemetery that contains 3 generations of the maternal side of my family...I am now hooked on photographically transcribing cemeteries. Anyone may use my photos and other work for their family history uses. If I can be of assistance in my part of the country, let me know and I will try to locate your family. Names that I am researching are: Towles, Moreland, Osman, Haydon, Broom, Allen, Alvis, Maycroft, Miller, Parkinson, Weaver, Eident, Watt, Blair as well as others.|

The reading of Ewington I used had several other names that I haven't been able to locate. I may try to find the person that read it and get a better idea of their location. There is a cemetery restoration class being planned for Ewington cem. this summer. I haven't heard lately how things are going.

Thank you for taking the picture. When I uncovered it last fall it looked like it could have been 14 but when I stopped by and brushed it off it was obviously 44. According to a dowser there is a female buried next to him. His wife is supposed to be buried in the Watson cemetery. I've also been trying to find a burial for George D. Neavill that married Nancy Francis Bailey. The last I could find on him was when his invalid pension ended in 1895 when he lived in Hill, Effingham co.
I was looking forward to someday getting down that way and take some family photos but you saved me the trip. Nice work!

# 138499923 " our son" age 5 I guess if there had been any Thompsons near him you would have photographed them - I did look at your other Thompsons and no possible match -
I had an uncle who married a Martha E. Huber in Cook County - his name is David r. Thompson
My first cousin says they had at least three children - a single and twins. I have been looking at newspapers.com one of the children died in a car accident. My uncle died in 1957 in Ca. They had divorced.
Cook County won't show births after 1940 and no hits for a divorce. I know it is possible this boy could not have been their child since I have a license for a David Thompson and a Martha E. Huber in 1951. My first cousin is almost sure David married in Illinois.
