I thought I would also add that I saw that there is a cemetery on the island but there is not one Linnell buried there. It seems the family Plot is Clayton Center and that adds more sense he would be buried with his famiy. I am going to use the source you sent me. Thanks again. Sorry you will not be able to make it to the reuntion.

On that note, I just wanted to tell you I'm going to get picture and information on all the stones, including the one the association replaced in Maine so we can update the gravestone site on the internet. The link does not work and I think we need to "brag" about the stones the assoc. has replaced. We can also set something up so people can donate and if you want, maybe a blurg about possible stones for consideration.

Thanks Jamie. You would think they would be buried together rather than one on the island and one not but I just never found anything otherwise and a descendant of Sally Linnell Cummings thought he was on the Island.

You have a memorial for Samuel Linnell, husband of Eunice Mosher in Clayton Center Cemetery. There is no stone in the cemetery for him. At the reunion there a few years back, the Cummings family who hosted it said they believed he was buried on Grindstone Island and actualy thought they knew where. They were going to do some more investigating. I never heard anything more. Have you found any records he was actually buried there?

George and Henrietta Linnell
I tried to find these 2 today in Greenwood Cemetery in Biddeford with no luck. I did find Susie and right next to her is a plot for a Berry family. In the Berry plot are a George and Henrietta with the exact same dates as your George and Henrietta. I am wondering if the manager of these 2 didn't mix up the last names.

I am related to Linnells in Canada…need help searching for a John Linnell b 1787..married a Mary.. son Joseph Benjamin Linnell 1827..
Heard story he may have had another family in Maine… 1851 Canada Census.. states born New Brunswick, 1861-says born 1861..later Grandson states his father Joseph b 1827 was born in Maine… any idea?
