My father's family is from the NW Florida area but recent DNA testing has linked us to a similar surname in North Carolina and, from there, to roots in the U.K. My mother's family is from the Dale County, Alabama area with origins in South Carolina. My wife's family is from the SW Georgia area with roots in the Carolinas, as well.

My mother and father have been engaged in genealogical research for years but I only joined in after the recent death of my mother (Lillian Sansbury Ward).
