Good morning,
My Crow family had roots in Monroe County, Missouri-and I had a great uncle named Elmer. However I am sure this is not him. I am wondering if there is more information on this particular Elmer.
I would appreciate any information on the Crow's in general.

Elmore Sturgill, 83, of Big Stone Gap, passed away Thursday (Jan. 12, 2006) at his home, following a five year illness.

He was a car salesman with Kanto Motors and King Coal Motors in Norton for many years. He enjoyed coon hunting and playing the guitar.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Bevie Sturgill; a son, Harold E. Sturgill; and his parents, Sylvan and Lilly Mae (Fleenor) Sturgill.

Surviving are his daughter, Phyllis Anne Hamilton and husband, Bobby; son, Larry Randal Sturgill and wife, Brenda; brother, Ronald Sturgill, all of Big Stone Gap; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Calling hours were held Sunday, Jan. 15, at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap. Funeral services followed at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Roy Smith officiating. Burial followed in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.

The family requests donations to the charity of one's choice.
