I became interested in Genealogy in 1998 when I returned to my home town in Royal Oak, Mi. after being away for 35 years. A cousin of mine decided to have a family reunion at that time. Having a very large number of 1st cousins that I hadn't seen since childhood, I was delighted and overwhelmed with emotions. Everyone brought stories and photos and we talked for hours about our ancestors. The Altay Cemetery in Schuyler Co., N.Y. became my main focus as this is where my mother's Great Grandparents are resting. Since then, I have discovered that many of the people buried there are closely related to me if not directly.|
Before Genealogy, I was breeding show quality Scottish Terriers, which I have raised over 52 puppies.
I have all the plot information for the Altay Cemetery. I am will to look it up for anyone interested.
I am currently using my Arwine family research / data to link together the family of Col. Arthur Erwin of Erwin, Steuben Co. N.Y.
I would like to pass on the kindness that I have received in the past while looking for my ancestors so I am willing to look up obituaries for any of my NY listings which is nearly all of them. Please request through the memorials.
A big THANK - YOU to Richard Horton (#47598526) Who has submitted many, many obituaries and death notices to my memorials.

Kathleen: Would it be possible for you to transfer the following memorials to me?
|Buddy Leech||Deborah Gleason (# 126109061)|
Thanks for adding the biographical information for Deborah. I took down her duplicate Memorial in McDowell Cemetery where her husband is buried.
|L Evans||David Erwin|
Thanks for sending an edit for him... unless you know otherwise, the 17th is the date he was buried. Although not impossible, it is highly unlikely that he passed and was buried the same day.

Thank you so much for transferring Josephine and Clayton Rohrbach's Memorials to me. It's very much appreciated.
|Jim Guild||John M Maynard|
Your John Maynard appears to be the same one on list of CW veterans (Co G 9th Indiana Cav) on list of those who died in explosion of the Sultana.
Thanks for the transfer! Lisa

|Duchesne Duchess||Forrest Cady Family|
Thank-you. It was a very sad day for the Cady and Sherman family. My mother Mary Kathleen Cady later said she lost everything that day. Mother and her sister Beverly were soon separated and raised by separate Grandparents. One the Sherman's the other the Cady's. But Mom went on to have 8 children of her own and was blessed to see most of them grown and married.

Forgot to ask you, do you know where Grover B Burleson is buried- Memorial #71179913 says he was in Robertson Cemetery/Rural & your memorial said he was in Rural Cemetery, both in Hornell, Steuben Co, NY but their GPS coordinates are different so don't think they are the same cemetery. I'm guessing one was a cenotaph & the other his actual grave site but don't know. Thanks again for all your help. Jim

I am new to all this amazing information, so please bare with me.
You have a memorial for Conrad Klein, Mem 160623080 as being buried in St Peter's Cemetery in Perkinsville, NY. Painted Hills also has him there.
I recently found a tombstone for him behind St. Peter's Church in Perkinsville, along with his wife's, Catharine Conrad. I could forward you a photo of both if you would like.
