I became interested in Genealogy in 1998 when I returned to my home town in Royal Oak, Mi. after being away for 35 years. A cousin of mine decided to have a family reunion at that time. Having a very large number of 1st cousins that I hadn't seen since childhood, I was delighted and overwhelmed with emotions. Everyone brought stories and photos and we talked for hours about our ancestors. The Altay Cemetery in Schuyler Co., N.Y. became my main focus as this is where my mother's Great Grandparents are resting. Since then, I have discovered that many of the people buried there are closely related to me if not directly.|
Before Genealogy, I was breeding show quality Scottish Terriers, which I have raised over 52 puppies.
I have all the plot information for the Altay Cemetery. I am will to look it up for anyone interested.
I am currently using my Arwine family research / data to link together the family of Col. Arthur Erwin of Erwin, Steuben Co. N.Y.
I would like to pass on the kindness that I have received in the past while looking for my ancestors so I am willing to look up obituaries for any of my NY listings which is nearly all of them. Please request through the memorials.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and quick transfer of my Grandfather Armstrong's memorial page. It is very much appreciated!
Kathleen - I have goose bumps!! I have been in that cemetery, at least, four or five times looking for William's gravestone. I even contacted several people who should have known where his grave was and was told 'he's buried in the Civil War section'. William is my great-great-grandfathers brother. Thank you so very, very, much! WNH

Would you be willing to transfer the memorial for Paul R Kelley (my uncle) in St Ann's Cemetery Hornell to me. Memorial #136081966. Thank you.

Thanks for sending the obituary. I've added it to the memorial.
Have a great week.

After reading your bio, I was wondering if you would be willing to share your information on the Altay Baptist Church, in Altay, NY. I am in search of a few stones there, including one for Emma Littell's husband, Eli Willover. The current caretaker was going to see what she could find for us, but I thought two sources may be more beneficial. Thank you for your help.

Thanks for picking that up. Thats the problem with different spellings of the family name. I have deleted my memorial. Have a great weekend.

Of course you can have the transfer, that's why we do this isn't it? I am honored to have found him for you.

I am researching the Maudsley family for my elderly uncle, William David Maudsley, who lives in CA. I will send you requests on the individual memorials for obituaries. It will be exciting for him (and me!) if you can add to what we know about his English great grandparents who lived in Hornell.
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Thanks for Margaret's Obit and the edits, I actually created the memorial for "Mrs French" in Adams Basin last summer, who is also mentioned in the obit, so I was able to link her too.
Have a great evening,
Thank you for the information and it has been added to his memorial.
