|Anonymous||Taylor, Lawler, Crenshaw Cemetery|
I have been to this cemetery at Hickory Hill. Giles Taylor and Francine "Sina" Stokes Taylor are my 4x Great Grandparents. General Michael Kelly Lawler Married Elizabeth Hart Crenshaw my 1st Cousin,4x removed. Francine "Sina" Taylor Crenshaw 4x great Aunt married John Hart Crenshaw. I am sure that Giles and Sina were buried there. I believe the Large Monument put there by their son Edmond "Dick" Taylor to have a stone where they were buried. I's sure you know that Gen Michael Lawlers is buried there. Has anyone started work on this cemetery? I would like to be notified if work hasn't started yet. I would love to help. I live in Atlanta, Ga. I go to So Illinois quite often. Earlene Stilley Jefferson
Also I think Giles served in the Revolutionary War. I really would like to have a placque put there.

I noticed that you provided a photo of the Fillmore Cemetery sign in Douglas County, Illinois. I also noticed that the spelling of the F.A.G. entry for the cemetery is different, with only one L in Fillmore. Not being familiar with that area, I am reluctant to personally submit a request for updating the name on the official Cemetery Fix/Updates/Corrections forum. I am writing in hopes that you might be interested in submitting that "fix" request.. Here is a link for that forum thread, if you are interested in submitting the "fix"

Hi, I am glad you are planning to work on Fillmore. I had seen a picture of the stones of John Davis and Jane Picking Davis. We ere there in July and John's headstone is now face down while hers still stands. They are my gr gr gr grandparents.

That's great to hear! The Miner cemetery books were a great resource but it's always nice for people to be getting marker photos and doing what they can on the cemetery. I look forward to hearing from you guys with any information you find to add or correct the memorials.

I also corrected this memorial, Patricia

Sorry about that, I corrected the memorial and placed her in the correct cemetery. The cemetery is in Hamilton County not Gallatin. Patricia

I am sorry but I cannot find a way to change the name of this cemetery. If you know how let me know. Wanda

I went on Google Earth and hopefully the link pasted below will bring up the satellite view. The cemetery is located on the left side of the road, in the photo it is the small clump of trees that is directly in front of the larger farm (to the right). The photo posted on Find A Grave was taken from the street (we zoomed in on it). We had went to the farm house and spoke to the owner to see if she would give us permission to walk to the cemetery to take photos. We were not allow to, as she said she was only part owner of the land and would need to get in touch with the family (descendants of those buried there) to ask them. I left my phone number with her, but no one ever got back in touch with me. The woman we spoke with was really very nice, I got the impression the descendants still visited the cemetery and perhaps may not want photos of the family cemetery markers posted online, which I completely respect. Also, this request was being asked by just two amateur researchers who wanted to post photos of the cemetery on Find A Grave :) With the cemetery being well maintained by family, I felt that fortunately this cemetery was not in danger of disappearing any time soon (hopefully!) Most of the photos of our local cemeteries were taken around the time the Lowes store was being built (right next to another one of our older cemeteries)and the replacing of the housing projects near another cemetery.
I do hope your able to get photos, it looks to be a beautiful family cemetery.

Sorry I don't have gps, if you want to go to this cemetery take Brakhane Rd south from Worden to Schien Rd about 1 mile from town.
|Lois Ams||RE: Deck Cemetery|
Angie, I really did not take the photographs. A lady that also had connections to relatives
in that cemetery took the pictures and emailed them to me. That is how I was able to
add those photographs. Yes, this cemetery was formally on Deck property and then it got
sold and so it is on private property or so I am told. It is located on Culp Lane near Bethalto,
Illinois. That is the best that I can tell you. Hope this helps at least a bit. Lois
