|Bio and Links|
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.|
I have enjoyed walking in cemeteries and looking at headstones my entire life. I truly enjoy working on accurately listing folks grave sites. Sometimes it is the only link in finding a relative. I live in Morgan County, Indiana and also have significant family in Wabash, Fulton and Kosciusko, Indiana counties.
I will gladly transfer management of any memorial under Find A Grave Guidelines. Just let me know. Only requests using the edit tab with familial documentation will be considered.

|Patricia Caviness Perkins||RE: John W POe|
The content of this memorial for John W Poe is in error ,his mother was not a Susannah Bray .His mother was a Susannah last name so far unknown ,,His father a William Poe died in 1799 leaving his widow Susannah with a 7 kids .I believe the confusion for a marriage between William Poe and Susannah Bray comes not from William Poe father of John W Poe but from a son of John W Poe this son also named William did marry a susannah Bray ,his brother Jeremiah married her sister Margaret Bray (Peggy )I believe also without proof that John W Poes father William who died in 1799 that his parents were a William Poe and Elizabeth Bray Poe .

I hate that this has the wrong or unproven data on it and that it was created by anonymous apparently anyone can do a, find a grave on anyone and facts be dammed ,John W Poes father was a William ,I discovered that ,I discovered his mother was Susannah ,it really ticks me off others take my findings and distort them ,Susanna she was not a Bray,John W Poes son William did marry a Susannah Bray ,his son Jeremiah married a Margaret Bray both sisters and daughters of a William Bray ,I suspect that this is where the confusion lies .While I do not know who Susannah John W Poe's mother was before her marriage ,she was not a Bray.His father William was perhaps was the son of another William Poe and Elizabeth Bray daughter of Henry Bray of Chatham Co NC

Oh also there was an article in the Martinsville Daily Reporter Nov 8, 1920 that told of what happened and that the body was taken to his home. (word in the family is that he was not killed from the fall, but from a hatchet in the back of his head). Then on Nov 11, 1920, another article telling of a Jap Miller being appointed to Henry's estate. The fall occurred on the property of a Henry Hite. Both Jap Miller and Henry Hite are buried in Brooklyn cemetery.
