Bio and Links
Bio Photo Started doing my local cemetery and after finding several Civil War vets I thought it would be interesting to look for Revolution and Civil War burials in Dearborn Co. Indiana. That in turn has turned into finding pioneer and forgotten burial grounds in my area also. Will transfer most memorials unless they are my ancestors. Corrections are appreciated, nasty grams are not.
If anyone knows of a Civil War burial, [or Revolutionary War] vet in Dearborn County IN. that I have missed please let me know.
If you want to use photos I have taken ok, just give me credit.

We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe.

RE: Peter Miller
Hi Justin -
I didn't noticed that there was an implied birth year for the Peter Miller we are discussing here until after linking my people to him. My Peter Miller died in 1870, as did this one, but mine was born in 1800. Mine did move to Indiana those last couple decades of his life, but obviously this tombstone does not go with my guy. I think, to eliminate confusion and make it simpler for researchers, it would be helpful to add that birth year to the page. I will disconnect my people from this page sometime in the next couple days. Thank you for bringing this up.

RE: Lindsay Family Cemetery
Thanks Justin. Is there a way to add street or other location details to 'map' area of cemetery entry.

Pvt. William W. Anthony
Thank you so much for the information on the above mentioned Pvt. William W. Anthony. I will be writing a book on this Anthony family. I had read a book written by his brother and one by his nephew and knew he died in Indiana but no date. He is a brother to my husband's great great grandfather John W.C. Anthony who was said to have died at Vicksburg but records show him released from there and delivered to Mobile Harbor, and no farther mention. We don't know where he died for sure but probably AL.

RE: hezekiah and jacob spangler
Not off the top of my head. I will dig out the family history and let you know. Again, I think the Jacob you are seeing 20 years after the war is Jacob Jr.

RE: jacob spangler
Justin, these are my relatives. Can you turn their sites over to me? There has been more than one Jacob Spangler. Sorry I don't know about any database. Why don't you go to the Dearborn Co. Court house, look on the map to verify the property was deeded to the Spangler brothers? And maybe search there. By the way there were three Spangler Brothers but one fought for the South so he didn't get land.
