Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started researching my husband's family several years ago when we "inherited" all the photos, newspaper clippings, wedding invitations, etc. that his grandmother had kept. I didn't want to throw it all out because it was a lifetime of memories and keepsakes so I began to organize it on a genealogy database. Then I was "hooked"!

I accidently stumbled onto my cousin's posting on a message board while I was searching for information on MY family and this thing just took on a life of it's own.

I volunteered to take photos for Find-a-Grave after I requested and received some for my postings. It was so exciting to see the stones that I thought it would be nice to reciprocate. I also think I have a "sixth sense" or the deceased just "call to me" because since I started taking photos, I've been to cemeteries that I've never been to and I just seem to be able to walk right up to the grave! I've done it almost every time!

If I have posted something incorrectly or if I have posted something you feel is inappropriate, please email me or leave a message and I will correct it.

I am not related to any of the postings for Mifflin County, PA so I will gladly transfer memorials to a family member, no matter how distant. PLEASE USE THE EDIT TAB AT THE MEMORIAL TO MAKE THE TRANSFER REQUEST. It's much easier that way and all the necessary information is there.

Any photos I post here are free to be used by anyone. If you do not want me to use your photos, please do not claim my requests.

William F STROUP
On second thought... It makes more sense that William died in 1871, which would jibe with him having been born in 1830 and age 41 at death. The reason it makes more sense is that Jane had her last child ca. 1869.

Please see this page at my web site:

Stroup
The Jane E. STROUP stone must be Jane Elizabeth (RITTENHOUSE) STROUP, widow of William F. STROUP. I believe her husband's stone must have been misread because his middle initial is "F," not "E." His death date makes sense, but his age may be wrong as he was born ca. 1830, so he should be age 47, not 41. These mis-readings are certainly understandable if his stone is as weathered as Jane's.

Thank you for doing these readings!
