Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi,

I got into this research as a personal and final request for my mother just before she died. She had worked many years on the family history research and had done it with paper and pen. I promised her I would work to get it on the computer. Well you guessed it, I am now hooked as well.

I use FAG as a means of communicating to others the information I accumulate. I appreciate your postings on my memorials, but please, no death certificates. When I find a memorial created by someone else, and I have information that will enhance the memorial, I send a SAC to that person with the information. Each SAC I send is sent with love and a desire for valuable information to be shared. The only negative thing I have to say is that if you respond to me abusively, I will send your message, in its entirety, on to FAG, for appropriate action.

The surnames I am interested in are Breshears, Blackwell, English, Carter, Gantt, Tuckness, Arnold, Cooper, Hogg, Harden, Sherertz, McNair, Sims, Butler, Gallaher, etc.

I'll be happy to transfer records to you if you are relatives of those I have management of. Please let me know if you have corrections or additional information that you would like posted. The proper way to request these changes is not here on my profile page in the comments. To request changes of any kind, go to the memorial in question, click on the [edit] at the top right of the memorial and then select the first option. That will give me a link to the proper memorial. Changes requested here on my profile page will be deleted with no action.

I create memorials for anyone that has a headstone in the cemeteries I survey. If there is no date of death, I am uncertain as to whether they are deceased or not. As a result, I create the memorial and connect them to the spouse that shares the headstone.

I post pictures of the persons based on what I have available. If you have better pictures, feel free to post them and send me a note so I can decide if I want to remove the one I have posted.

I have no desire to amass high numbers in any of the categories that FAG tracks. I hope you don't either.

I have added a link to my local Genealogical Society here in Polk County. You will enjoy our site. It is not my personal web site.

Roane County Heritage Commission
Pleasant Hill Cemetery
There are two Pleasant Hill Cemeteries. One is indeed in Roane County but the one in Loudon County which is very close to the Roane County line. It is the Loudon County one in which the Gallahers are buried. I visited the one in Loudon County today and took pictures of the Gallahers which clearly show that they are not in Roane County but Loudon County. Your listings need to be merged to ours as otherwise people will not know where these people are actually buried and will lead to incorrect genealogical information being put out there.

Mary Ann Powell
Hi Jan, I was wondering if Mary Ann Powell's (#53120531) middle name is "Pillar," or is that a former last name from another spouse?
Thanks!
Britany

Ada Griffin (Griffith) Blackwell
It was Thomas P. Blackwell who was married three times, not Ada. I am not sure if her maiden name is accurately Griffin or Griffith. I do identify she was married twice.

Thomas P. Blackwell
Yes, I am related through his second wife, Kizziah Bond. They are the parents of my Gr-Grandmother. I have both the original of his obituary and my Gr-Grandmother's death certificate where both her parents are identified. I am not where I have access to my records for several days so I will need to get back to your inquiries at that time. As for Ada, I believe she is identified in the obituary of Thomas P. Blackwell. There is also a regional history and bios book which includes Thomas P. Blackwell. As I recall it also identifies Ada. As for Ada's place of death, I am uncertain. I probably identified the cemetery as a reference for myself when researching. I will also need access to my documentation to provide further rationale as to why I identified a death location and cemetery. I try to be as accurate with my facts as possible, but my research is always a work in progress.

RE: Eblen's Cave
No graves around the cave. The sign is about spreading a fungus that kills bats. It can be spread if a spelunker visit another cave that has the fungus.

Hi Jan, using the search box it took a few seconds to find her number. It is 30248195. I just thought it looked overdone, with the 2 you posted plus the one someone else posted. Thanks for all you do, here on find a grave. Genealogist47336229

Hi Jan, for some reason there are 2 copies of the same photo of the headstone you posted on her memorial. Can you remove one of them? I think only the person who posts them can change it. Thanks. genealogist 47336229

Thanks very much for the transfer!

There is something touching about these homemade markers, never know whether to replace them or not. He is a bit of a mystery in that we cannot find a marriage for him but the 1920 census says "widower." He lived with his sister Betty Floyd in 1910 and 1920 in OK, still with parents in TN in 1900.

Thanks again!
