Graveyards

When my soul is restless
And things seem out of line,
I visit an old graveyard
To take a mystical step back in time.

I find the oldest tombstones
Then read the messages there;
I consider what their days had been
And how our lives in ways compare.

We all have lived though heartaches
As well as episodes of fun;
Surviving loss of loved ones,
And rewarded for a job well done.

Sometimes if I'm very still
I can hear what they have to say
And feel them reaching out to me
Grateful for my momentary stay.

If I've added a photo to any memorial, I give you permission to use it for your genealogy. Happy Hunting.

RE: Transfers
To be honest Kate, I've really loved doing this work. But lately, I've been called names, told I'm 'not very sharp', I'm a pain in the %$#%, and it's been happening more and more, simply because I chose to follow the guidelines set out by Find a Grave themselves. I have some other priorities, including a transcription of 2 years worth of letters written by my grandfather during the war, so I'm letting this work go. Thanks for asking, though - I will miss a lot of the really GREAT folks I've worked with, like you! Cheri

RE: EDITS
Has been a few weeks, a Find A Grave member let me know about it. Sure makes it easier not having to type and retype information, just go to EDIT (above on your profile page) click, then accept and it does the rest automatic.
Thanks again Kate, I appreciate your kind help.
Blessings,
Lorraine

RE: Transfers
Great! I'm spreading them in batches, because you will get an email for everyone I transfer. If you have had enough, just yell uncle and I'll stop. I plan on giving you everything I have in Macon County, as well as at least everything I have at Maple Grove and Green Hill in Haywood, maybe more if you are willing. I'll start transferring today. Thanks!! Cheri

Transfers
Kate - I'm taking a break from Find A Grave and want to transfer my memorials rather than let them sit under an inactive ID. Are you interested in any of my Macon or Haywood (or any other counties) memorials? Just let me know. Thanks, Cheri

RE: McGhee Cemetery,
Wow - he sounds like a piece of work! Sorry he ran you guys off.... I've seen this cemetery referred to as Ledford-Moffitt, McGhee and Sellers or Sellers Family Cemetery. I think there is someone working on a merge, I got asked the same question, but I don't know Macon County that well. Thanks - hope you are doing well! Cheri
