|James Allen "Jim" Rogers||Henry Allen military medallion|
I'm still grateful to you from 2012 in being able to connect Henry to the adjoining Fretz graves due to your "area" photos. I've been stuck on locating his military service record. Someone asked if there might be a company or unit number on the medallion associated with his stone. I had assumed it simply said G.A.R. or something similar. How would I go about having that checked? It's not exactly a photo request. Might you know anybody in that area who could check? His memorial is #60123366. Thank you again.

|Armstrong History||Katharine Sprague Alvord|
Hi - Just by some odd chance I was at the webpage below and happen to come across a Katharine Sprague Alvord - I had just read your message and remembered the name, "Alvord". Thought I'd pass it along to you - It's always a treasure to come across an unknown pix or info but disregard if not related and/or not interested. (I did a quick check, but without a lot of digging, I didn't find a memorial page for KSA.
|Armstrong History||Freedom Town Cemetery - Alvord|
Hi - I came across your note on the memorial page for Thomas R Alvord. While the cemetery is in pretty rough condition, I was able to read the gravestone of Thomas R and put a photo on his memorial page.
Thanks Mike for the transfers on my Large family

Thank you for adding Mr. Bruhl's auto-obituary. We can always use more humor in this addictive hobby of ours.
|D&D||Re; First Ward Cemetery|
Just wanted to let you know, that unfortunately many years ago the cemetery was turned into a park. The last burial was 1909 and all of the headstones have been buried and I assume bodies are still there. Sounds terrible and I didnt think this could be done.There is also a list of other cemeteries in Syracuse that has been abandoned or covered over. If you go to the link for this cemetery it will go into detail. There is also a book noted there about this. We have a street a few blocks from there named Alvord street so must have been a relation to this. Sorry I cant help.
