|Don Vaughn||RE: Stanley Marker in Oak Hill Cemetery|
Thank you. I had looked for her monument several times in the past years and was fortunate to find it.
That area had a thick layer of leaves and the city mowed the area and blew the leaves away.
The other Stanleys , Rebecca, Sino, and Ella ,were near by. Another one on the south border of section five is still eluding me.
I also took a picture of Turner Sampson's grave, next to Sybl's.
Best wishes, Don

I searched for this stone for a couple months. I got lucky yesterday. I searched all around to find her husband, but to no avail.

John - it was my pleasure. I enjoy doing it. -Diane

I apologize. The photos were copyrighted apparently and find a grave would not allow. You can see info and pictures about that cemetery on Chatham County Cemetery Census. I volunteer with this project and didn't realize the pictures were copyrighted. Chatham Co. has done a good job of documenting cemeteries and is now in the process of adding pictures. This is the link:
Click on the "original notes." That's interesting.

|BJ Miller||Thank you|
Has anyone told you today how fabulous you are? Well I will... Thank you for what you do. BJ
|BJ Miller||Samuel's in place of his maybe?|
I apologize for needing very simple bio information. If you could simply place Samuel's name in place of "his" I would be clear. Samuel's wife was Mary Jones. You are so very kind, thank you. Where would people looking for family links be without you... BJ
|BJ Miller||Samuel's wife is Mary Jones|
In doing research for family links to the Mayflower, I came across information in the Mayflower Silver series, vol. twenty-three, part two, pg. 22 on John Howland that states Samuel Bishop's (1675) wife was Mary Jones. The way I am reading it, you have her listed as the wife of Samuel's son. In this book, they cite the will of Samuel Bishop in linking his son Daniel(1703)to Daniel's wife Elizabeth Brown who is a Mayflower descendent. If you look up Samuel's will, he actually had seven or eight children. I would leave a copy of his will for you to have the list of his children if I could. Thanks ever so for your work. BJ

There very well my be a headstone for Elizabeth, just below the surface, I had nothing with me to probe the sod. I go to this cemetery 3 or 4 days a week to take pictures and sometime next week I'll bring a digging tool. There are 2 more headstones missing, that of Ernest and Jean Danforth in graves 5 and 6
