I feel very strongly about family and friends and am very dedicated to both. My wife and two children are my life and I would do anything for them. I believe it's not what you own in life that defines you, but how others feel about you that does. |
I've worked in law enforcement for 23 years and my co-workers are like family to me as well. I have tremendous respect for those that spend their time serving and protecting others: doctors & nurses, firemen, police officers, EMS personnel, to name a few.
Until recently, I worked for five years with teenagers in rehab. The hours of two jobs were adding up and my family needed me at home more. I had to pay more attention to my own health also.
As a counselor technician working with teens, I assisted them with their day to day needs and to help them work on their problems. Sometimes they just needed someone to listen. It made me feel very good to help them re-discover the joys of life and living.
My father was in the Air Force and later, the National Guard Army. My step-dad was in the Army. He was also in law enforcement. I've followed in his footsteps and believe there's no better calling than helping others.
I believe we should respect and honor those who have passed away. They are our parents, grand-parents and friends. If we loved them while they were here, why shouldn't we show our love for them after they're gone? That's why I believe Find-A-Grave is such a great place for each of us to share our loved ones with one another.

Thanks you for the headstone photo for James William Thompson.
|Mildred Fletcher||Jackson Cemetery|
Could you tell me exactly where the Jackson Cemetery (Where so many Jackson's are buried) in Charlotte, Tennessee. I know where the Jackson Chapel Cemetery is, but can not find the one to go visit where Beulah Bell, Cornelia etc are buried. I am researching Jackson Family for my Brother in law, Robert L. (Bob)Jackson and his daughters.

We could make out "Rest" not sure about the "At", even though that would make sense. We actually used flour on the headstones. We just recently made some new "graver" friends that suggested using shaving cream and a plastic scraper. They say it really gets into the groves on the old headstones. And the photos look great. Have not tried it yet. We are always open to better ways to retrieve the info.

I add 3 photos to the Vineyard Cemetery...an aerial, mailbox with street address across the street and directions.
If you want to add these please do. I had put these together, before finding your entry on the site. Again, thanks so much for taking time to photograph and document the Vineyard Cemetery.
I will be looking for the photos of my grandmother, Ruby, to upload to #2 unknown.

I have transferred Alice to you.
|Ronald Estes||Your Estes line|
Thank you for putting your Estes family here on find-a-grave as it has helped me with my Estes research.
I am working on connecting as many Estes lines to the "Big Estes Tree" (Nicholas Estes b: 1495 in England. I have several questions for you but will only ask a couple of you here on find-a-grave.
Do you have parents for William James Estes as I have been going thru census records trying to find him before 1870 in the records. Also do have information on current living Estes members of your family. I am making an Estes family CD in PDF format and will publish it in volumes. Each December I will make availble a CD for free that will include all the Estes families that I have plus all additions/corrections/updates and family histories/stories.
I am also on Facebook under Ronald E Estes and you can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
