By the way, this cemetery does not come up in normal drop down menu on findagrave. John Noland was a Union soldier, John Noland was born in Madison, Kentucky, USA., the son of Abraham Noland (1821-1920) and Elizabeth Fluty (1820-1911).
He firstly married Josephine Decker 4 March 1867 in Lawrenceville, Lawrence, Illinois. When his wife died some time before 1872, he married Mary Leifso (surname was Levetzow in Germany) born Tützen Or Tüzen, Kirch Mulsow, Mecklenburg Schwerin, Germany. She was the daughter of Johann Joachim Christian Levetzow 1824-1899) and Adolphine Sophia Wilhelmina Koch 1825-1905 (later generations Leifso or Liefso or Lifeso variations).
The John Noland family appears on 1880 US Census:
Census Place Oakland, Clay, Kansas
Family History Library Film 1254376
NA Film Number T9-0376
where his wife Mary's birthplace is given as Mecklenburg, Germany.
John Noland received a military pension from the Civil War. He served while living in Illinois. Record of this service @

If you would in some way incorporate this information into his bio, I would greatly appreciate. His wife was my Grand aunt and I have added her to the profile as his wife. One child is already linked to him. I have requested the linking of "Freddie", same cemetery.

|Lilian Wheeler HUHN||Meaning of W/O|
I would appreciate if you could let me know what the inscription w/o Rufus means shown both on
Memorial# 144208385 and Memorial# 144208413.
Is it wife of? If so, mother and daughter would be connected to the same person?
Thank you in advance for your attention

|Pat LaCroix||John J. Fast (FAG # 37029602)|
The picture you posted on John's memorial page is for another John J. Fast (1916-1953). The younger John J. is the son of Martin Grant Fast, son of William Marion Fast, son of John Jay Fast, Sr. John Sr. was born in 1814 and died in 1891. I know it is confusing, but just wanted to let you know so others won't be confused by the 2nd picture. There already is a picture of John Sr.'s stone, thanks!

I don't think I have thanked you for the beautiful, clear picture of my Great Grandfather's headstone. It looks so much better than the previous picture. You must have used granite cleaner and polish on it.
