Retired university teacher and librarian with interest in Civil War burials and burial practices. Also undertaking to photograph all cemeteries in Erath County, TX, and surrounding counties, then to enter the tombstone information into the database. Many older tombstones are in such shape as to be illegible, so corrections to bad or missing biographical information is welcomed.

Thank you very much for the picture of William Johnson Long and Mary Long in the Hightower Cemetery in Erath County. They were my gg-grandparents.
I am wondering if I could get you to add a couple of links to WJ Long?
His mother was Jane Smart Long #17019111 buried in Brittan Cemetery, Rutherford County, NC.

Harmon White
STEPHENVILLE -- Harmon White, 84, a retired grain elevator owner and operator, farmer and dealer for International Harvester, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 1997, at a Stephenville hospital.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Graham Street Church of Christ. Burial: Ramsey Cemetery.
Memorials: Foster Home for Children, P.O. Box 106, Stephenville, Texas.
Harmon White was born Sept. 17, 1912, in Retreat, Texas. He was a member of Graham Street Church of Christ. He lived in Stephenville since 1978 and had previously lived in Cotton Center for 42 years.
Survivors: Wife, Deane of Stephenville; son, J.C. White of Comanche; daughters, Pat Varner of Abilene and Judi Lee of Olton; sister, Lyndelle McClanahan of Dallas; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nephew, Duane Fisher of Dallas.
