Thanks Barb. I thought that it might be near his son. Your information was a great help. Will go again maybe in November and search again.

Joseph Kilpatrick
Hi BJ, My great grandfather is Joseph Kilpatrick. He was born 12 Jan 1828 and died in 1880. I found him on find a grave and it shows a picture of his tombstone. I visited the cemetery Old Ledford Chapel Cemetery on Jack Rabbit Rd. in Clay County NC. I had a printed out copy of his record of being buried there which included the picture of his tombstone. I was unable to find his actual grave. Is there a plat or map that shows the graves in this cemetery? Since his tombstone is flat I am wondering if it has just been covered over. If there is a plat or map I would love to have access to it. Thanks for all your assistance. Dayle Kilpatrick Perry

RE: Obits..
Yes Barb it is very scary, the "Spanish flu" (influenza) outbreaks in the Melrose Beacon started reporting incidents from the 1918 outbreak at out of state locations first and later in Minnesota and then in Melrose. It was horrible, killed so many world wide! Jeanne

RE: Obits..
I love finding them and sharing them, they have added a great deal of history to my Museum Facebook site as well. People love hearing about the history. I am right now reading about the influenza outbreak in the early 1900's - so very sad! Jeanne

Thanks for your work on findagrave.

Could you transfer management to me for my uncle, Joe Falteisek 1926 - 2005? He's buried in the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Ellsworth.

I would like to link him to my grandparents, add his obituary & photo.

Thank you,

One additional comment, Barb….On the photo ID, I believe Laura Maddox's married name was Smith. She was married to Edward Devereaux Smith, and is buried at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. (Her daughter, also Laura, was married to Spearman.) Let me know if I have the facts confused. Thanks again.

What a fantastic picture you posted! I'd seen lots of Maddox pics, but not this one. I have a family connection that is frustrating me. Are you related to the Maddox family?
