Most of the Memorials I have created were done of those not yet done in the local Cemeteries. Many I know only by what is engraved in their stone. So I will gladly transfer them.

Mistakes happen especially when you are your own proof reader, so please let me know when you find them so corrections can be made.

Please Use the EDIT Button on the memorial you wish transferred or with corrections.

Thank You.

RE: Private Eli Wehrly
Well, here is what I found out: The earliest American militia was three months old on 13 Dec 1636, the date that is celebrated as the birthday of the National Guard. The Guard was not called the "National Guard," until 1916, however. But the militia are "the oldest in the nation" and "possibly in the world," being in operation here for 370-400 years, in every campaign from 1636 until Iraq and Afghanistan. I had no idea that the National Guard was operating for so long. I never realized that it participated in the Civil War.

RE: Private Eli Wehrly
Maybe. I don't know if the Guard existed at that time? I need to look that up! :)

Do you know what the letters, "N."G." stand for before the word "Infantry" on his tombstone?
