If I have added a family member or a good friend, I am happy to transfer memorials. I am not bothered by F.A.G. guidelines in transfers. I am concerned about getting family members "back together." I DO transfer distant relatives since they SHOULD be with family.
I am also happy to transfer memorials of close friends as well as family.

REMEMBER, these sites are in memory of someones' ancestors. If you place a photo on a memorial, make it good enough that you would be happy with it on your own.

All men die...not all men really live.

I am looking for Charles & Flo Liddington. Flo died in 1972. Charlie was alive in 1974. They were my mothers' mother & step-father.
I believe they lived modestly within a half hour of Danville, PA. Also,
I am also searching for any info regarding the roster for the 33rd or 34th Battalions of the Maryland Militia. An ancestor I am searching for, Thomas Mock, who served with this unit in New Jersey in 1777 under George Washington. He had a wife named Sarah and parents were George & Catherine Mock. They were from "SUPPOSEDLY" living between Sharpsburg and Middletown, Washington & Fredrick County, MD.

Beth Jacob Cemetery memorials created in Rosedale, Berkeley Co., WVA
Thank you for transferring most of the duplicate memorials. To help identify the others I sent you individual requests. Your attention to this matter sincerely appreciated.

With good intent and probably because you were unaware that there are 2 cemeteries side by side in Berkeley County, WV you created many duplicate Find A Grave entries that need to be deleted. They are causing confusion among researchers, especially those on ancestry dot com. You made the entries under the larger cemetery called Rosedale. The graves are actually situated in Beth Jacob Cemetery. Beth Jacob is situated next to Rosedale, but is not part of Rosedale. At one time a fence separated the two cemeteries but was removed for mowing purposes. In most or all cases your duplicate entries were made a year or more after the Find A Grave entries made under Beth Jacob Cemetery. You can find the duplicates, probably about 40 or more, by comparing the 53 Beth Jacob entries against those you made in Rosedale. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated so that additional mistakes will not be made by reearchers on ancestry and other websites as well as in personal family trees. Thank you. (P.S. this issue came to my attention again this week when a volunteer looking up an obit for me in Baltimore referred me to your Find A Grave entry at Rosedale instead of the Beth Jacob entry.)

With good intent and probably because you were unaware that there are 2 cemeteries side by side in Berkeley County, WV. The larger cemetery is Rosedale. Situated next to it but not legally part of Rosedale is a Jewish Cemetery called Beth Jacob Cemetery which at one time was known as: Bash Yankev Cemetery. Until late part of 20th century, a fence separated the two cemeteries. The fence is now gone for mowing and perpetual care purposes. The Jewish Community owned a section of land that Rosedale cemetery committee wanted. An agreement was made between the two parties that the Jewish community would deed the land that did not contain burials sites) to Rosedale in return for perputual care the Jewish Cemetery. The Beth Jacob cemetery was not deeded to Rosedale. Therefore, all the Jewish graves that you have entered in Rosedale should be deleted. Those graves are not in Rosedale. Most or all of the Jewish memorials you inadvertently included in the Rosedale enumeation are duplicates of Find A Grave memorials that were created a year or two before your entries. Please delete the duplicate memorials entered under Rosedale. The duplicates causes confusion and users are picking up your entry thinking it is the correct one. This kind of experince happened just this past week. Thank you for your cooperation.

James B Harrison l# 62055935

James B. Harrison is my great grandfather. I was wondering if you would consider transfer his memorial site to me, if not I certainly understand.

Again and as always, thank you for all you do for Find A Grave.

Ruan Huffer Motter
Birdman, unless it's one you're interested in, I'd be happy to have memorial 84625311, Ruan Huffer Motter transferred to me. She's my Great Great Great Grandmother, and I have more than a passing interest in maintaining her memorial. Although Ruan passed away nearly 150 years ago, it's been passed down to the current generation what a kind and loving person she was. In fact, there are no less than eleven of her descendants that have carried on her name, including my own daughter Emmarie Ruan Green. In any case, I'm grateful for the time you've taken to fill findagrave with your work. Regards, Darren Green.
