Bio and Links
Bio Photo It's been just recently that I've discovered the fun of tracing roots - and as a result I now find myself in the local cemeteries quite often trying to unravel one mystery or another. I'm glad this site is here to help preserve the history which is rapidly disappearing. I enjoy the hunt and the satisfaction which comes from helping someone out who may not be able to make it to beautiful Southern Illinois themself. Happy hunting to everyone! Steph

THanks for the up date. I'm thankful for anyone who still have their job, with the way our country is headed. Take care & God bless.

Close but no cigar. The stone you found could be a part of the family of the guy I a looking for but I don't think its my guy.

As far as his military service this is what I know: 2nd Lt. Thomas Alexander Co I Unit 11 ILL US INF Civil war officer.

So if the stone does say 80 Ill then it isn't the correct male.

Thanks for your work. But apparently the mystery continues.

Hey! Stephanie

Just thought I'd touch base with you.
Have they been able to dig out that one stone you mentioned? Boy! I'll tell you if you find him we'll be one most appreciative family. But all who culd tell us anything about him is gone now. So it's up to me & my sister to find him. Hope to hear from you one way or the other. Take care & God bless.

Thanks for replying. Does that mean it's in Perry county?

RE: Mary B Robinson
I just talked to my wife about this and she said this was a more southern tradition. I thought it was a common practice. Thanks for making the changes!

RE: Mary B Robinson
The B is for Boyd, her maiden name. Her birth name was Mary Pearl Boyd. Usually after marriage, the woman uses her maiden name as middle name.
